I thought I'd dress up for the occasion. It's not very often one gets to walk the red carpet with such a elite group of folks...

*Scratches The Little Merman off the nominees list*
What? Oh, we're back already. Well then....
...Now, here to present our award for Best Message Board Idea of the Year, please welcome Timon/Pumbaa fan!

T/Pfan: On July 17, 1955, the opening day of Disneyland, Walt Disney said this quote:
"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."
The same could be said about the UD forum, and this year our fellow members have thought of.....*reads* 2 ideas! 2 ideas is that it? Wow, perhaps the world is coming to an end. We should be worried as this could be a sign originality is coming to an end if these are all the ideas! Well, either way, we have 2 nominated ones, let's hope this only means many more for the future. The nominees are:
*Getting Rid of the Post Count - Idea from Luke
*Releasing Disney Guru from the Vault (unbanning him after the Secret
Santa '06 ordeal) - Idea from Luke
Now, I know you probably want me to reread the entire list as there's so much on here, several can slip you mind, but since that'd take too much time, I'll just read the winner.
The Golden Mickey for "Best Idea" goes to...

Getting Rid of the Post Count
by Luke

This is Luke's 16th Golden Mickey Award and his first for Message Board Idea of the Year. He has a total of 21 nominations this year.

Congratulations on your Golden Mickey, Luke! I'm sure it's the 16th of many to come! Though this idea wasn't initially embraced by all, this award reflects overwhelming support for it today! Hooray for all that you do to keep this forum a well-oiled machine, with the oil being the ingenuity of your many ideas!
Thank you also, Timon/Pumbaa fan, for a fantastic speech. Walt would be proud.
When we return, we'll have the award for Forum of the Year. But first, let's turn back to Joan -- who I'm so happy has returned this year -- on the red carpet.

Ahhh...sorry I'm late. There was a rather large bed in the middle of the highway, causing a traffic jam. The people on it were dressed formally, so I can only assume they were on their way here. Anybody here know them?
Congrats to Escapay on his ingenious WIST series! So if the other sig nominees were wishing they had Escapay's sig, would they be able to start their own WIHT series? Hmmm...
Congrats to Luke on his removal of the post count! He had some stiff competition there, but it's good to see him top the competition.
As for the return of Joan, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I think I'll compensate by laughing tears.

Congrats Luke, good form old chap, good form.
Now I'm standing in front of the El Captian where the awards are taking place, near the enterance is Mickey Ronney, a wonderful actor who played Tod in Fox and the hound and Lampie in Pete's Dragon. Mick's recent film, Night at the Musesem was honored as UD's first Non Dvd review thus paving the road to a possible franchise of other non dvds joining the ranks. *Walks over to Mr. Rooney* Excuse moi Mr. Rooney, care for an interview? *Mr. Rooney shakes his head no and goes on his merriy way* That's alright....This just in....Jonas Bros, the hottest, most sought out boy bands of today's generations are performing their new hit single Hold On, later after the Best Fourm Award, these guys have made their mark on music faster than you can sweet niblets.

I'd like to extend my congratulations to the Post Count, who realised that discretion was the better part of valour.

Geez I thought someone would get the reference....I was just playing the role of George C. Scott in our little play.blackcauldron85 wrote:Thanks for the info, Julian. I sent the caterers to get you some...boy, this McDonald's is good...I hope everyone got what they ordered (besides your Kinnie. Which is coming.)!!!
Maybe there should be a new category: Member who hates the Annual UD Awards the most...
and the nominees are:
Isidour
Mr Toad
I think it's a tie!
(you guys know that I'm just playing with you!)
The quote was George C. Scott's I think when he got nominated for the Hustler. When he actually won he sent a native American woman to pick up his Oscar. Scott did not attend the ceremony. I thought maybe somebody might get it. Oh well.

I got it, but it was Marlon Brando, not George C. Scott, who sent the Native American woman in his place. Scott had earlier refused/returned the Oscar for Patton.Mr. Toad wrote:The quote was George C. Scott's I think when he got nominated for the Hustler. Thanks for the Idea award. Seems kind of like a fixed category, but I appreciate the nice comments. Keep the fun coming...

When he's not busy buying DVDs, watching FOX, or hanging out with Mickey Mouse, he makes time to stop in and grace us all with his presence. Here with the award for Forum of the Year is MickeyMousePal!
*crowd chants MMP! MMP! MMP!...*

MMP: This year might have a new winner in the category or the same winner might win just like the pass years. The odd of having a new winner is very slim. This is a Disney site so everyone will take about Disney more then anything else. Or will they talk about something that doesn't really deal with Disney.
The nominees are:
Disney Theme Parks
General Discussion
Off-Topic
Polls and Games
And the winner for Forum of the Year goes to...

This is Off-Topic's 3rd Annual Golden Mickey for Forum of the Year.

Congratulations to Off-Topic!
Thanks, MMP, for a great speech!

Well, I was hoping for General Discussion to win for a change, but this is still good anyway. Looking good thus far.

BTW Aaron, I like your new Angela-Lansbery-Who-Looks-More-Like-Neo-From-The-Matrix Avatar.
