Considering how decent the current disc is (and more substantial than the Robin Hood and Fox and the Hound re-releases), I suspect a re-release would be like Pooh's: in other words, a reissue instead of an upgrade. The only thing that'll be different the second time around (besides promos and packaging) would most likely be a matted presentation of the current transfer. Since I don't own the current disc, I wouldn't mind a re-release that simply mattes the image and has the same supplements. It seems to me the point of most of these re-releases isn't to upgrade, but to phase out the Gold Classics Collection from the public's memory. I do hope Hunchback and Hercules become exceptions, though, and get actual upgrades similar to the Pocahontas and Mulan sets.

 It's not the most faithful adaptation of the novel, but I still love it.

Ditto.

That would make it a "2-disc Full Double Buttcheek Edition."

Let's also make sure to include a cellulite slipcover as well! :P

And, for the ultra die-hard fans, special 'bloomers' slipcovers. If someone tried the old trick of buying the DVD and returning it without the slipcover they'd be fined for indecent exposure.

Anyway, I'd really like a special edition of the film. Special features could include a documentary on Bill Peet and a feature about the animation in the film (some the best animation from the 'Nine Old Men' ever, in my opinion).

I also wouldn't mind seeing a bonus feature wehre some of the animated sequences are set to their original dialogue. I read in Koenig's Mouse Under Glass that some sequences were originally used for one scene, then suddenly moved to another and dialogue was re-recorded. There were only a couple examples in the book, the only one I remember is where Sir Ector is supposed to say "You're not supposed to go in there!" and point to something, but it was redone to have him say something else.
