Which Princess has the biggest Wardrobe?
For those curious about Princess wardrobe (who wears what and how many):
My __guesses__ are (thinking of their various flicks):
Snow White = 2 (work outfit, ball outfit)
Aurora = 3 (if you count pink and blue colors for ball dress)
Cinderella = 6 (work, pink, bridal, ball, horseriding, maid disguise)
Jasmine = 3 (market, regular palace, ball palace)
Ariel = 3 (mermaid, ball, housedress).
Belle = 3 (work, green housedress, ball)
If this topic already exists, my apologies and please post that thread here?
thnx!
Incidentally, Cinderella does wear a Swim Suit in one portrayal. Can anyone guess where she appeared dressed that way (hint; major TV show, hint 2: she was animated, the show isn't)?

Re: Which Princess has the biggest Wardrobe?
I'm not sure if the one you're thinking of is the one I'm thinking of, but I'll always remember the Sesame Street News Flash that had Kermit interviewing Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother. The Godmother had trouble making a dress for Cinderella, though, and made a bathing suit, then pajamas, and finally her rags again...because she accidentally put the dress on Kermit!kurtadisneyite wrote:Incidentally, Cinderella does wear a Swim Suit in one portrayal. Missed a few.
Snow White = 2
Rags and yellow regular dress.

Cinderella = 9
White night gown, work dress, mother's (pink) dress, silver ball dress, pink dress (Cinderella II), blue proper dress (Cinderella II), castle dress (Cinderella III), maid disguise (Cinderella III), and rags (Cinderella III). I might've missed some 'cause I don't remember CII that well.
Jasmine = 9
Market disguise, regular palace outfit, purple dress (when Jafar first takes over), red captive outfit, purple outfit (at the end), purple night dress (TV Series), snake transformation (TV series), pink outfit (King of Thieves), and the bridal outfit (King of Thieves).
Ariel = 9
Purple shells, sails dress, pink dress, pink night gown, blue corset dress, bridal dress, sea witch outfit (TV Series), white nursery dress (Return to the Sea) and violet queen dress (Return to the Sea).
Belle = 7
Work dress, blue cloak, pink winter shoal, pink winter dress, green inside dress, yellow gown dress, and red winter dress (The Enchanted Christmas).

Well, we did have a discussion like this in the Princess Enchanted Tales thread, but considering that discussion was a bunny trail from the true topic, this thread's fine. Oh, and the answer is SNL. I remember your mentioning it before.kurtadisneyite wrote:If this topic already exists, my apologies and please post that thread here?

Here's the wardrobe rundown I did from the Princess Enchanted Tales thread in order from greatest to smallest (note that I'm not including sequels):
1. Ariel (standard purple seashell bra, white outfit made of sails, pink gown, pink nightgown, blue village dress, pearl blue dress, white wedding gown)
2. Cinderella (blue childhood dress, pale blue nightgown, standard brown/mint green dress, pink dress, silver ball gown, white wedding gown)
3. Mulan (standard green/blue/red dress, pink/blue/red matchmaker kimono, Ping armor, green training outfit, teal/aqua/scarlet dress)
4. Jasmine (standard pale blue outfit, brown village cloak, purple dress, red harem outfit, purple shawl dress which may have been a wedding dress before King of Thieves was produced)
5. Belle (standard sky blue dress, green dress, scarlet winter dress, yellow ball gown)
6. Aurora (standard black/white/gray peasant dress with removable shawl, blue fairy gown, pink fairy gown if you want to include it)
7. Snow White (scullery outfit, standard blue/red/yellow dress with removable cape)
8. Pocahontas (standard tan outfit)

Plus the pink dress from CII, plus the dresses in her closet from CII, plus the "I look like a present" wedding dress from My Perfect Wedding.Disney's Divinity wrote: Cinderella = 8

I wouldn't include closets because 1.) I'm sure all the princesses have a closet (except maybe Ariel) and 2.) We never see the dresses on her. And I haven't heard of My Perfect Wedding.Prudence wrote:plus the dresses in her closet from CII, plus the "present" wedding dress from My Perfect Wedding.
I think I forgot Ariel's nursery dress from the beginning of the sequel.

Don't be hard on yourself my dear. I can sharpen your Cinderella knowledge.
I think half of the Disney Princess have a dress fetish *chuckles* I understand the dresses need to be outstanding for the charcter to appeal the audiences emotions. But I wouldn't mind seeing a Disney Princess wear modern clothing.

What are you talking about? I have plenty of Cinderella knowledge, but a great deal of it is useless!

lots of em...
Yes, lots of wardrobes!
Not sure about Aurora's 'Corset' dress. She wears a "peasant" outfit with black bodice, pale green sleeves and a gray dress. Have never seen her in a true corset (other than the paper dressing dolls I run across sometimes - there, she's usually in a shift with waist corset).
Cindy did have a horseback riding outfit in Cinderella III.
One problem with differentiating wardrobe by colors is some of the films have changed color values over the years because of bad transfers or restoration. fact: Disney mixed their paints with Technicolor color in mind, so colors that look rather drab in the cels (mustard hair color, etc.) would turn out the way they wanted on the screen.
Unfortunately, these days too many color timers use the painted cels as reference __without__ remembering that the paints were mixed to make Technicolor look good. ((btw, don't blaim the restorers - they were __told__ what the colors had to be !!).
A good example is CINDERELLA PLATINUM - Cindy ended up with green sleeves and other colors that are not what were in the original Tech prints. Ironically, CINDERELLA III __nailed__ the colors of the original!
(and in this I am backed up by a former Disney animator / Background painter who has been working with those characters for 50 years, but who must, by his request, remain a mystery (he inbetweened on Sleeping Beauty, but is not one of the 9 old men).

Re: lots of em...
I thought so! Cinderella's hair was also more dark and not so bright. So I guess what I'm asking is...if you worked on the Cinderella Platinum DVD, you didn't work on the restoration, then? But you knew that the colors weren't correct, and maybe that's why Cinderella's ball dress is silver in all old masters but turns blue in the DVD? It's bluer all throughout, but completely blue when she enters the castle (and the guards are checking her out, LOL) and she loses her slipper. It's like turqoise on the palace steps!kurtadisneyite wrote:A good example is CINDERELLA PLATINUM - Cindy ended up with green sleeves and other colors that are not what were in the original Tech prints. How ironic indeed. I guess it's a sign the complaints about the restoration got through to someone... or maybe they actually had someone who knew about Technicolor in a position of power (as opposed to whoever said "Brighter=restored!").
I've always wondered why, in "Disney Princess" things, Jasmine is always wearing something different from her standard blue outfit while everyone else is wearing their "regular" dresses. I think it's the outfit from Return of Jafar. I have seen it pink in one book.
Let's just find someone with a good collection of Zizzlingers. They're a pretty good record of the different outfits Princesses wear.
