But I dont think she counts....
She doesn't count.
OKAY now I will explain:
A princess has ALWAYS been released in FALL.
SPRING has no princesses as of yet.
But everyone thinks FALL means princess because princesses have only been in FALL.

The UK Special Edition of Pinocchio was an insult.
I would agree that I'd like to see some decent extras for Pinocchio, Billy, but jeez ... the Platinums have been around for several years now. You'd think that someone would have been culling some of this stuff for a while.

True, but Pinocchio, along with the three other titles, was added to the Platinum Edition line in May of 2003. It isn't like Disney has had an inefficient amount of time to prepare Pinocchio for a Platinum release. It looks as though Disney just has another plan for their release schedule. It seems Sleeping Beauty has earned the Fall 2008 slot in order to have a Princess film released right before Christmas. While I can understand the logic behind this, I still don't see why they didn't save Sleeping Beauty for the Fall 2009 slot. First of all, the film has already been released on a great two-disc special edition, so why should it get another two-disc edition before some of the other Platinum titles are released? And also, 2009 will mark Sleeping Beauty's 50th Anniversary, though Disney will undoubtedly will market the release that way despite being a year early. Personally, I think Pinocchio should have the Fall 2008 slot, but it doesn't seem as though that will be the case.
thought i would bump this thread since the website on page 2 has been updated with a video. very odd to me because clips of every single platinum/upcoming platinum was shown except for fantasia...hmmm..what do you think that is about?

I saw the trailer too and thought it was amazingly well placed together *chuckles* wish Disney US would set up a website listing the released/upcoming platinums. That way we can all keep track of 'em.

Which video are you speaking of? Are you referring to the video on the German Disney website? If so, that video has been there for quite some time.
My guess is we will get Fantasia in spring 2009 followed by Pinocchio (as the last Platinum Edition; ever. No reissues) in fall '09.
The Princess and the Frog will fill the princess quota for the fall of '09 (like Enchanted did this year, allowing for a non Princess centric PE for the fall)that's what will allow Pinocchio's release. I also suspect Pinocchio will be labled the "70th Anniversary Platinum Edition" in honour of it's landmark anniversary the following year. Getting that title is also my basis of making it the fall release over the spring.
Fantasia could also recieve the subtitle, but I think it's unlikely as Disney already released an Anniversary Edition of Fantasia and they seem like a company who doesn't like to use the same subtitle on different releases. Why else would they call this years The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh a "Friendship Edition" when this year happens to mark it's 30th anniversary? Beacause there is alreay a "25th Anniversary Edition" that's why.
I don't know, it's all just meaningless speculation at this point, and I, like the rest of you, eargerly anticapte the news 101 Dalmatians DVD Guide will bring us (if any).
I think that 101 Dalmatians should've been the last Platinum and then they could've started over with a whole new and better collection for Blu-ray with Sleeping Beauty. Let's face it, I bet the Sleeping Beauty PE Blu-ray is going to have more special features on it than the DVD anyway. How else would they get us to buy it? I'm predicting that it'll be the same story as Cars and Meet the Robinsons. I just hope that if i'm right, then the features are worth it. Not that it really matters to me all that much. I intend to have a blu-ray player by then anyway.
Ok... I just got home and popped in the Ratatouille on Blu Ray into my PS3.... So I was watching the trailers and here is an unexpected twist of a trailer that I was not expecting at all...... COMING SOON TO DISNEY DVD and DISNEY BLU RAY:
Sleeping Beauty coming fall 2008
Now I am not sure if the trailer is on the Cars Blu Ray but will update you all when I get around to popping in the Cars Blu Ray.... Although no 101 Dalmations trailer on the blu ray disc of Ratatouille... I guess that's because 101 Dalmations will not be on Blu Ray.....
Also On A side note... Cars Blu Ray is only one disc... not a 2 disc
