Mike's Super Short Show VS. Disney's Really Short Report

At the risk of asking a stupid question....what are these special reports? I've never really heard of them until now

No worries.
They're these short, "comedic" commercials that air only on Disney Channel. For four years, we had "Mike's Super Short Show," in which kid Mike, along with his little sister, Sally, would report on the latest Disney DVDs. They would report on synopsis, bonus features, and...well, the show was more about bonus features than anything else . Sometimes, they would even have guest stars (Brenda Song- "Wendy Wu," and Ming Na- "Mulan II").
Like I said, they only air on Disney Channel, and, most likely, only in English.

Recently, Disney has switched to a different method of doing the same thing. The new method is a mock newscast, complete with anchorgirl, field reporters, and a weatherkid. The new one is crap. Don't watch it.

Oh, I don't get Disney Channel, unless thats Family Channel, probably not.....I don't really watch Family any more since all the shows are about teens who have the same problems over and over

Family gets many DC shows but they are not an official branch of Disney Channel even with the bumpers that say "With the magic of Disney". I know it’s close to DC and FC has some shows that are imported to the US but I wish it would just become a real Disney Channel like the Brits, Aussies, and everybody else has.

Now I always liked Mike's but only saw it when in the US with a Disney Channel or on the website. I am very worried about what this new show is like.

And another thing about the Really Short Report- is it just me, or are those kids really rude? The anchorgirl has SUCH a bad attitude, it makes me want to slap her!

It's not just you! I know someone who changes the channel whenever Ginger comes on because of her attitude!

I agree that if they thought Mike was too old, they should have handed the show over to Sally. Mike never looked as old as he was though. He could easily pass for 11-12 to me, when in actuality, he's somewhere around 16.

Alyson has a large fanbase, and Mike does indeed look younger than he is.

although i never thought i was the only one to like MSSS better, i didn't know there was enough hatred against this show to make a thread about it. i SOOO hate them the kid a the shoe store tries to act cartoonish and he has the most annoying voice ever, the blond boy is probably the less annoying which only makes him incedibly annoying, his lines are over worked, and what an we say about the girl???? that annoying smart a** copy of raven, she is truly annoying i thought hilary was annoying, i thought hannah was annoying, i think alyson milkshake is annoying, but this is disney channel's all time low.

i miss Mike and Sally. i knew this short report would be bad BEFORE it came on. but one good thing is they'll be replaced in four years. let's just hope they don't get rid of the Movie Surfers which always gets new tweens/teens. one question to Disney: WHY DO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE ALL YOUR GOOD LITTLE SHORTS LIKE IMAGINEER THAT! AND OTHERS WITH CHEAPLY MADE SHORTS?

I find this new Disney DVD plug to be incredibly annoying. That girl plain pisses me off! And the kid in the shoe store? SHUT. UP.

Yes, I agree. Very annoying. I miss Mike and Sally. I actually liked them. But this Super Short Report? ANNYOING. And, not for nothing, but it's not that short, either. Mike's Super Short Show WAS short and to the point. I HATE Super Short Report!!!! Okay. Rant over.

Last night Disney aired an epsiode of "Short Report" on Peter Pan, this one's 60% better then "Twist In Time"...there's one sce where of the reporters does an amusing thing for Neverland....rap singing, which was not that bad. I think the writers of the show learned their lessons bout smearing a good Disney character in bad taste.

I can't stand Flip's rap! That was one of the lamest things I had ever heard! The acting is still awful, but at least Ginger wasn't a rude little snot this time.

i haven't seen them since the peter pan report so i'm glad because that one wasn't that good anyway.
edit:just looked on wikipedia and good news, IT"S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know because they had cancelled episodes for The Aristacats and Jump in! but nothing else for the episodes since the Mike's Super Short Show farewell episode. wonder what will replace them?

Probably because nobody was really watching them...maybe it cost too much,because in the Peter Pan PE special,a kid was flying in an airplane...0.o

they are getting better in the report. in the first episode they were annoying, in the second they were still annoying but better behaved, in the tribute to Mike's Super Short Show they were very good cause they were annoying, but in the new one they were like in the PPPE again but a tiny bit better especially Ginger Storm while Flip Flopperstein? was just idiotic once again.
