My Disney World trip

Post by kbehm29 »

Of course, the time went all too fast. During the course of the eight days we stayed there: the a/c went out in our condo, I broke my foot, and I had a distant relative pass away.
Never-the-less, I have no regrets. I found out that Splash Mountain is my all-time favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom. I must have gone on it at least five times. Expedition Everest is awesome. Only went on once, but can't wait to go back (I'm actually planning a trip BY MYSELF with no kids - anyone care to join me?). Rock n' Roller Coaster was amazingly cool, but I couldn't convince myself to try the Tower of Terror. My four-year-old went on though and had a blast. He was fearless - he wanted to go on everything....which leads to how I broke my foot. He got in line for Space Mountain, only for the cast member to tell him he was 1/2 inch too short. Complete temper tantrum, and he stomped on my foot. Luckily, it was on the last day. I felt bad for him, because he really wanted to go on the ride...but jeesh. He could have stomped on his dad's foot instead of mine! I get my cast off in two weeks. He was tall enough to go on most everything else -- he loved Splash Mountain too. I can't wait for my two-year old to experience the bigger rides for the first time.
Also, I loved the addition of Jack Sparrow to the pirates ride. I heard the Laugh Floor was a huge hit - I sat that one out though cause the 2-yr-old was sleeping in his stroller. I guess they involved my boyfriend in the show and kept referring to him as "That Guy". My boyfriend's favorite ride was Space Mountain. My 11-year-old couldn't stop talking about Expedition Everest. And we all loved the Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show - worth every penny...but make sure you book early to get seats close to the stage and bring a sweatshirt! We're lucky we read up on it before we went.
I am very sad it's over and can't wait to go back. There will be a Disneyland trip before I go back to Florida, though.

I'm sorry about that... :(

I can't believe I'm saying this....but last night I started planning my next trip already.

Disneyland in January 3-10, 2008. That's only seven months away -- I've never taken two Disney trips this close together before. I'm only sorry Toy Story Mania won't be open by then....but at least I'll get to see the Nemo subs, AND I haven't seen the refurbed Space Mountain yet.

I'm thrilled. And I'm only taking two of my kids with me - boys ages 11 and 5. It should be a blast, because the 5-year-old will be tall enough to do everything but drive Autopia cars.

Yay! I'm glad you had fun! And I'm glad you're going to DL (I'm jealous!)! That does stink about your foot, though. :(

Next time, you should try the Tower of Terror! For me, it's my least favorite ride, since every time I go on it initially, I get really scared. Then, if I go on a 2nd time, I'm a little better. I still scream a lot, no matter how many times I go on it. But, despite its scariness, the effects are really cool...I'd recommend you go on it at least once!!!

Yeah - I love Disneyland. The reason why I have to wait until January is because I have no more unscheduled vacation time left at work! That sucks! I would go this fall if I could.

So since we get our fresh set of days January 1....I decided to plan for January 3rd. Sort of a Christmas present to myself. The parks should be empty. It might be a little cool outside, but we can wear jeans and sweatshirts. I've never gone in the winter before - maybe they'll still have Christmas decorations up. Now to start saving up!

Thanks for reporting back. I am glad to read that you had a great time.

Did you have a chance to visit Epcot? If you did, what attractions did you like best?
Remember the Magic!
