Who Wants to Meet Up With UDers in WDW?

Post by Escapay »

Just a thought...would any want to take charge and arrange a UD Get-Together this summer? It seems that this year there seems to be more UDers who are known Florida inhabitants*, and there's quite a few of us** who will be down for the College Program. And there's even a few more*** who will be having a vacation in Florida this summer. So if someone wants to arrange a UD shindig, I'm up for it. We could all meet in Downtown Disney, then go to a park and wear t-shirts with our Member Names and Avatars on them! :P

In 2005 I was able to meet up with the now-absent-from-the-boards Prince Phillip, and I know in 2006 there were several near-misses of me meeting up with some UDers on vacation (near-miss in that I knew they were down there, but we didn't make any formal plans to meet). I remember MichaeLeah and me discussing it before, but they ended up going to WDW *after* I finished my program, so that was a near-miss as well. And I'm pretty sure several UDers have annual passes to WDW.

*correct me if I'm wrong: MichaeLeah, blackcauldron85, QueenRahel, xxhplinkxx, Disneykid, Just Myself, chapnearwdw, Chrissy31886, and I'm sure there's a few more...

**me, goofystitch, bennyb98, ToyStoryfan, (but bennyb98 and ToyStoryfan won't come down until September), and a few more I can't remember right now...

I'm totally in.. I'd love to meet all you guys!

My vacation is from Sept 8-15 so I hope those days work with most of you :)

You wanan hear something funny? I was actually figuring out how to enlarge my avatar so that I could print it on an iron-on transfer sheet and put it on a t-shirt  Michaels has some plain ones on sale for $3.50 now.....

Sounds fun, Escapay. Maybe we could do something before said event, as well? Seeing as I don't know anybody who will be down there. The one girl I knew who went to UF met a man who worked in England at Epcot, fell in love, and is going back to the UK with him in a week. lol.

What does one need to make such a shirt? Obviously, besides a shirt.

Working too much this year. Next year, however, will be a different story.

i won't be making it since i'm helping my mom at work this summer . i might make it next year if i get a chance. another reason i won't be able to make is that my mom rarly takes a holiday so its like she works for 25/8 every week. we had to force her to take a holiday in 2005 to see the 50th for a week. the sad part is we didn't even go on every ride.

They sell iron on transfers that you can print from your computer. You can buy a package for around $10 that will have a bunch of them inside. Then you can print out the picture you want and iron it on to the shirt.

For the more artistically inclined, they have paints and crayons that are meant for fabrics and won't wash off.

If anyone really wants to splurge, there are places that will actually print or embroider a design onto a shirt for you.

Thanks, Princess Stitch! I'll have to start by buying colored ink, or using someone else's printer. Sounds fun, though!

If I'm available, I'm down with a UD get-together. I'll be sure to check back with more details.

Will those of you in the college program have access to the internet when you're down there? (this is probably a stupid question, I realize)

I assume we're going to have to regroup in August to talk ...

How far in advance will those of you in the CP know your schedules?

I won't be there until May 2008, but I wouldn't mind seeing a few faces when I'm there...
