How did you know Pinocchio is one of my all-time favorites? But that bit of billing is tied with Alice In Wonderland, in case you didn't know.Escapay wrote:Anyways, to contribute a bit to the "Ultimate DVD" aspect of the thread...a little teaser of some more fake-and-wishful-thinking-DVD-material I work on when not doing other things...(and a nice gift for BDF, as I'm sure this is his favorite DAC...)

Three discs wouldn't be enough for all that material, especially compressing 32 shorts on disc two, and trying to fit 20 shorts, two "Disneyland" episodes, and about 50 minutes of video featurettes on a third disc.
I'd probably just spread the shorts to 20 per disc, then having a separate disc for bonus materials.

But that would probably mess up the release years ranges, wouldn't it? Or am I missing something here?Escapay wrote:Three discs wouldn't be enough for all that material, especially compressing 32 shorts on disc two, and trying to fit 20 shorts, two "Disneyland" episodes, and about 50 minutes of video featurettes on a third disc.

It would but the discs don't necessarily need to be clumped together by the years of release. We didn't see the True Life Adventures arranged chronologically, and not even the Disney Afternoon cartoons are released by season, but rather volumes of X amount of episodes.Big Disney Fan wrote:But that would probably mess up the release years ranges, wouldn't it? It's been on the perennial backburner (with a lot of other titles) for quite some time. I just posted my incomplete shortform specs for it as a gift/teaser, and as something different from my usual entries. Aside from posting it here, I haven't even done anything to it since I first wrote it.Big Disney Fan wrote:Hey, Escapay, whatever happened to your Pinocchio DVD?
I haven't really worked on any ultimate editions since I've been working more on DVDs for my Quick DVD Guide, which I have to update with a few more titles by this or next week. Plus, the semester's ending soon and I've got several more things on my plate and can't exactly focus on writing fake-and-wishful-thinking DVD sets.
I have, however, been updating my The Rocketeer DVD set, mainly out of a desire to update a lot of my early entries. It won't be finished for some time (what with not devoting that much time to these things), but will likely show up before any other DACs right now.

Thought I'd do something new and quick...tongue-in-cheek "Family Fun!" Editions of the Disney Animated Classics. And yes, I'm shamelessly borrowing Fox's name until I come up with something equally as cheesy. They're like a sort of "Realistic Cutdown" of my multi-disc Legacy Series sets, to reflect what they would be like if they were *gasp* mere single-disc Disney DVDs. They're presented in shortform specs simply because I have neither the dedication nor enthusiasm for writing out my usual long-ass descriptions and details. I'm having a bit of fun with this too, offering some ridiculously stupid games and music videos, all as part of Disney's penchant for turning good releases bad with dreck like No Secrets' "Once Upon (Another) Dream" and T-Squad's "Second Star to the Right".
Each "Family Fun!" Edition will basically contain the movie, the deleted scenes (because everyone loves deleted scenes, so we'll even make some up!), music videos, and a 25-30 minute documentary along with a couple short featurettes and an Art Gallery. Trailers are useless, after all, why would a family sit down to watch a trailer of the film they already bought on DVD? And we can't forget about those wonderful Games and Activities! Learn how to make a castle out of toilet paper rolls!
First up, those darling princess movies people can't get enough of!

Using this bit of advice as a guide, I have yet again updated I revised the contents of my Goofy and Pluto DVD set to cut back on the number of cartoons each so as to let there be some room and the bonuses on their set.Escapay wrote:It would but the discs don't necessarily need to be clumped together by the years of release. We didn't see the True Life Adventures arranged chronologically, and not even the Disney Afternoon cartoons are released by season, but rather volumes of X amount of episodes.Big Disney Fan wrote: But that would probably mess up the release years ranges, wouldn't it? Or am I missing something here?

No, not hardly. These are just sets that people are making up, kinda like something that they would like to see for that particular movie. But don't you just wish they were real? Some of these, mostly Al's, are really fantastic.PeterPanfan wrote:...Are these...real? 0.0

Hm. I'll think of some other additions to the disc. I didn't include annoying games because, if you'll pardon my redundancy, I find them annoying!
