I was very happy to hear about this, though I am dissapointed that a second Tale Spin set was not announced. Perhaps they're holding it for october to coincide with The Jungle Book's release?

Widdi - Muppets and Tailspin did not come on the same press release last year so I wouldnt worry.

Although Talespin was announced Feb 21 last year. It may have been earlier due to being a Volume 1.

Actually it is a little bit concerning on the Talespin front. Ducktales Volume2 was announced in April last year.

Great cover art for both the Muppets and Darkwing Duck.

I too hope that we hear about Talespin Volume 2 soon.

YAY!!!! YAY!!! YAY!!! :pink: :pink: :pink:

"It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet show Season 2!!!!"

I've been waitig for this announcement for ages, and finally it's here. And even better: By the time the set is released I'll be in the US, so I can rush out to buy it the day it comes out!

And I love the artwork. I actually voted for this cover in the poll that muppets.com put up many months ago. I think it really fits the cover of Season 1 that showed us Kermit's tummy, so the piggy snout and her great eyes really match this.

I've recently been having HUGE urges to go out and but The Muppet Show Season 1, and they're even bigger now that Season 2 has been announced. I'll get it as soon as I save up some cashola.

Finally! This has some of my favorite episodes on it. I wonder if the cover will be fuzzy like the Season 1 set?

I'm disappointed with the Darkwing one. Why did they give him a pose we've already seen on Volume 1? And the background is too light, I loved the darkness of the first set. Ah well, I'll buy it anyway ^^

The Muppet Show was on when I was four or so - from all the laughing I sort of understood that it had to be fun, but I was too young to get most of the humour in it. Seeing it again on the S1 set was a pleasant experience and I look forward to S2.

I still need to pickup the Season 1 set. I haven't seen a fuzzy cover for Season 1 in ages though. I wonder if Season 2 will have a fuzzy cover too.

I've always thought that Season 2 was when it got good. There's a few choice moments in Season 1, but it's all a bit flabby and lacklustre compared to the later episodes. By Season 2 the characters have filled out a bit, the writing and structure of the show have improved, and they're getting some great guest stars.

If nothing else, Season 2 has the John Cleese episode. That alone is worth the price of the DVD set.

I can't tell, really, but based on what I hear the show matured a bit for S2 - and as far as I understand for the better. I guess certain important characters didn't show up until S2.

Like, for example Beaker. And who could imagine Dr. Bunsen Honeydew without his poor assistant who always got into trouble with the experiments.
And in Season 2 Miss Piggy and Fozzie were redesigned to as we know them today.

Ah, if memory serves both would be reason enough to buy S2! :)

Do you think they'll ever reissue Season 1 with all the cut stuff returned? Or perhaps include the footage on later sets as was done with the Treasures?

I too am no fan of the artwork. I didn't like the first one either. They should use cast photos for these. And here is an interesting question. Do you think that the nutorious Disney PC police will hold back season 2 because the cover art might offend people who can't eat pork? It sounds like something that the mouse might pull.
