Which Disney DVDs will you be buying in 2004?

Post by Lady »

These are the Disney DVDs I plan on buying this year:

Aladdin Platinum
Aladdin and the King of Thieves (if it comes out by December 2004)
Mary Poppins
Disney Treasures?

I would have also bought the Pocahontas DVD but they had to go and delay it. Bastards.

I'm still not sure whether Wave 4 Treasures will be released in December so I didn't include them. Also, will Home on the Range and/or Pixar's the Incredibles DVDs be released in 2004? If they are any good, I might get them as well.

I'm going to get:

Lion King 1 1/2
Haunted Mansion
Brother Bear
Princess Diaries 2 (this depends whether I like the movie enough to justify actually buying the DVD)
Aladdin
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

The Incredibles will probably be on DVD sometime early 2005 since the movie doesn't come out until this Thanksgiving.

Dinotopia: The Series (it's not a "Disney DVD", but it's still Disney)
Sleeping Beauty SE
Alice in Wonderland ME
Brother Bear
Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Living Colour Vol. 2
Walt Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald
Mickey's Three Musketeers
The Princess Diaries SE
Mary Poppins SE
Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas

Tentative (need to see more, or have it confirmed):
Mulan II
The Princess Diaries II
Aladdin SE
Return of Jafar
Aladdin and the King of Theives
Eloise at Christmastime

Plus, since I'm new to DVD, I'll probably get the essentials (if I can find them):
Snow White
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Lady and the Tramp II
Belle's Magical World SE
Escape to Witch Mountain
Defy Gravity...

Lessee...

Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition
Walt: The Man Behind the Myth
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
Freaky Friday (original)
Aladdin: Platinum Edition
Mickey's Three Musketeers
Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas
The Princess Diaries: Special Edition
Mary Poppins: Masterpiece Edition

When I look over this list, I realize 2004's DVD schedule isn't anywhere near as impressive as 2003's. 2004 would've really benefitted from the Pocahontas and Lilo and Stitch ME's.

Well, I'll be getting all the ones we KNOW are coming out. I have most of these on order, or will be placing them on order sometime soon...
  • - Aladdin Platinum

    - Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece
    - The Lion King 1 1/2

    - Home on the Range (US) AND Nem Que a Vaca Tussa (Not Even if the Cow Coughs) (Brazilian release)

    - Darby O' Gill and the Little People (Australia)
....and I'll more than likely get these if they see the light of day this year (and rumour has it, they will) (i.e. pending release dates)
  • - Treasures Wave 4 (if any)
    - Mickey's Three Musketeers
    - The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
    - Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas

And here I was thinking of saving money this year for a trip TO Disneyland for the 50th anniversary (2005)....
