I was originally thinking of seeing today, but it never happened. So I'll either see it next week or when the ticket prices are half price (NZ$14.50 normal prices, unless I go to a small town, where it's about $10).

PS: In case you're wondering it's about 5:30 pm Thursday, 3 May in New Zealand.

I am very excited, seeing it in a few hours. However, most of the reviews are confirming my fears. Too many villains is gonna ruint it. I have lowered my expectations. It won't top the first two, I guess.

^ I don't trust a lot of the reviews out there, especially since their reasoning behind this movie's failure seems dodgy at best. I plan on seeing this tomorrow evening! It's gonna be the first time in a while I've actually ordered tickets before arriving at the movies. Should be a lot of fun! :D

I could care less what critics say. I am seeing this movie, but I kind of know it wont be as good as the first two.

I figured with all the villains, and the movie being crammed full of so many things it wouldn't get positive reviews. I'm not listening to them though.

Wouldn't mind catching this in IMAX, but I don't have a IMAX theater anywhere close to my city. :(

I'll see this at some point this weekend, I'm sure. "Spider-Man" was never my favorite superhero movie, and this one seems to have far too much going on (dark Peter, three villains, Gwen Stacy) to work for me, but... I still want to see it. Plus James Franco is a hotty. Even if "New Goblin" is such a lame character name.

I have just seen "Spiderman 3" at a special showing, and I can tell you that some of you will be disappointed, and some of you will be screaming how great it is. I found it to be very boring in certain spots, and found it also to be overlong. There are too many bad guys, and too many plot lines to resolve satifactorily. Toby Maguire is amazing, and so is Kirsten Dunst. The special effects will dazzle you, and the score is very good. All in all I will give this movie a solid 3/5.

It will probably break all box office records this weekend. And it should. But we wary, it does leave it wide open for a fourth installment, something that Tobey Maguire has said he will not do.

Hey Julian, I'm pretty sure Spiderman is getting a worldwide premier so you can probably count on seeing it this weekend!

Yeah ... I just checked the KRS website. It'll be released in Malta tomorrow. :)

However...

I have so much darned schoolwork to do that I can't see myself watching it anytime this weekend or next week :( . Besides my tons and tons of Biology work, I have another 4 essays for next week: one for sociology, one for English Literature, one for Maltese Linguistics and another for English language ... and I have to study for a test next Monday, concerning John Keats' "Ode on a Grecian Urn". BOOOOOORING!!

Here's what I've written so far for "Ode on a Grecian Urn". I'm following my teacher's notes and trying to write them in my own words.

BTW crunkcourt, long time no see! :D

Ode on a Grecian Urn

This particular ode is widely considered as being one of Keats’ finest works. Through its glimmering perfection and smooth-flowing stanzas, the reader pictures the poet’s subtle interaction with the urn. Keats addresses it and reviews the symbols as depicted on it. He proceeds to analyze it in more detail – shortly commenting on the pictures on the other side. The conclusion confirms that the urn is to be here forever, whilst human life will ebb away.

The poem echoes grace and refinement. The philosophical nature of the first four stanzas morphs in perfection with the sophisticated language, even if the fifth stanza is a trifle harsher in its composition. The ode suggests an aggregate of sonnets, each missing one quatrain, leaving a single quatrain followed by a sestet (abab cde cde). Some critics believe that Keats regularly had the sonnet-form in his mind when writing his odes. Combining the Shakespearean and Petrarchan sonnets allowed Keats to avoid each respective form’s shortcomings.

The ode establishes itself as a formal, highly literary, yet stylized piece of writing...

Will see Spider-Man 3 tomorrow in the morning because later it will be sold-out. I have heard that Spider-Man 3 is weaker then the first two films.
Yes, I know this movie will make mega bucks and hopefully will enjoy watching this film while snacking on something. Tobey Maguire says he would do Spider-Man 3 only if Kirsten Dunst and Sam Raimi return for the fourth film.

Saw it.

Dissapointing. My fears were confirmed. There so many storylines in this film. It never really comes together. The fight scenes were good, but everything inbetween was confusing and sometimes just plain weird.

Overall it entertained, but it's not nearly as good as the first two.

Yes, fancy the critics expecting the third film in the series to have the same amount of character development which made the first two great movies rather than just run-of-the-mill action blockbusters. Shame on those critics.

Um, no. Shame on critics for expecting Spiderman 2 v2.1 instead of something different and fresh. A lot of critics only gave it a flop of a review because it wasn't pretty much like Spiderman 2. Anyone who expects a recreation of work made almost 6 years ago is very likely to be disappointed with the final product.

So, judging by what dvdjunkie and PatrickvD said, you should not expect much from Spider-Man 3. I guess thats what happens when you over-hype a movie so much. I'll still see it nonetheless. Lets hope that this does not happen to Pirates 3.
