I also never saw this show.
He taught and entertains so many children for many decades.
I best it was very educated that's why it last so long on television.
Rest in Peace (RIP) Captain Kangaroo.
I agree with you Jack.I never grew up on this show, but it's still sad that he's passed. R.I.P.

- Counting flowers on the wall,
That don't bother me at all.
Playing Solitaire till dawn,With a deck of fifty-one.
Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo.
Now, don't tell me I've nothing to do.

the moose's name was mister moose. this was one of the first shows i grew up with i think my mom even called me mr. green jeans for some reason. anyway this really came as a shock to me because i thought he was already dead since the early 90's. but then looking back the early 90's is just when he quit doing the show. dang. see ya captin
Thanks wizzer.
For the longest time today I was like "What the <bleep> was the moose's name in Captain Kangaroo?!" Mr. Moose got me hooked on tapioca pudding. I'm even eating some right now. My mom got it in bulk at Costco. I don't know how I'm going to finish it all though. I don't really like it when my mom buys food in bulk. I never finish any of it! It does save us money though.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.
