Muppet Christmas Carol Question

I love this movie, and ever since I watched it before Christmas, I've had the song "When Love is Gone" stuck in my head. It was one of the few things I remembered from when I first saw it ten years ago.

In the UltimateDisney review of the DVD, it says that the commentary reveals why the song was cut from the original release. If anyone has the DVD, why was it cut? It's a beautiful song, and a heart-wrenching scene.

But seriously, it was as with most deleted scenes, it seems, for timing/pacing reasons. The feeling was that it slowed down the film too much, a point I wouldn't necessarily disagree with.

They almost cut "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz" for the same exact reason! :oops:
