Me neither! But I can't watch someone placing his/her contacts too. It just look so weird!! I hate eye drops as well, I hate everything that has to do with placing something in my eyes. My optometrist offered me contacts instead of the glasses, but I declined since I hate having something in my eye that doesn't belong there. Plus, the glasses make me look intelligent (not really)
Same here. I've had many people suggest over the years that I get contacts. I do look better without glasses, I think, but there's no way I'm sticking those things in my eyes.
thats one reason i didn't want contacts, haveing to stick them in. although i do sometimes put my finger on my eye just for laughs i can't stand wanting to put in something that doesn't belong. but i have no problem looking at both of those. maybe in the future they'll invent a machine that'll fix our eyes without hurting us or haveing to get our eyes opened for minutes on end for eye correction.

I thought my glasses would define my personality yet it sort of doesn't *chuckles* but I'm proud of 'em anyways. I bet you look intelligent in your new zoot suit (1920s word) and by zoot suit I mean, your new glasses.

That's one of the few things I liked about my glasses.
I wore glasses from 1996-2003, but while I liked the more...mature look it gave me then (I always felt/looked about 2-3 years older in glasses), I hated wearing them. I remember I'd always take them off before taking a picture, though occasionally I've been too lazy to. Still, I've got a back-up pair of glasses in case I don't feel like putting on my contacts one day, or if I accidentally run out and forget to restock.

I've worn glasses since I was in 5th grade (10 years old, I think). I'm 31 now, and currently have 2 different pairs for different use. One for normal use, and the other is for reading and using the computer.
There was a period of time when I wore contacts, but that was only because I tried to look less nerdy, back in high school. Plus it allowed me to wear sunglasses. I stopped wearing contacts, because they hurt my eyes and want to pop out, when watching TV, playing video games, or using the computer, which I tend to do a lot of.
Well, I could have sworn I'd posted in some thread about glasses, but apparently not, so I'll talk here.
Until third grade I never wore glasses, but one faithful trip to the eye doctor, and I was prescribed them. I was embarrassed, so I wore my glasses a few days at school, and, well, never again.
The next year, in fourth grade, my teacher made us do a morning warm-up over a projector, and I simply couldn't see it, so every morning I'd get up real close and do the work. Finally, during our routine health exams, I was called back up because I needed to do the eye part again, so I could do it with my glasses. Well, I still didn't have them and my teacher gave me a little talk about trying to wear my glasses everyday. But I didn't make the decision until I started getting "floaters" which are incredibly annoying "squigglies in my eye fluid", as Stewie Griffin would say. The catch is, I didn't know what eye floaters were, so I was terrified that I had cataracts, and made my parents take me to get glasses, and I wore them!
For a long time now I've been deciding on whether or not to get contact lenses- and I got them today! I had to put them in and out four times, and everyday I can only where them for a certain amount of hours. Today, only 4, tomorrow, 6, then 8, then 10, then 12, then all day. So write now I'm my glasses. Very glad I've made the switch, though!
I've had to wear prescription lenses since second grade, and my vision got progressively worse throughout growing up. It mostly leveled off when I was limited to seeing clearly about 3 inches in front of my nose. I actually didn't mind wearing them as a kid, but began to feel really self-conscious over them sometime in junior high. I begged for contacts, but was told I'd have to wait until I was older. I finally got those contacts in high school, and oddly enough, felt even more self-conscious without my glasses. That took me a while to get over.
These days I wear glasses most of the time and contacts for working out (since they don't get in the way like glasses can) and for special occasions. I hate being so blind though; I really don't mind the contacts or glasses and love the option of being able to go with either, but I wish I could occasionally get by without them; I'm completely dependent and have to wear one or the other at all times. I can't even find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night unless I put my glasses on.
Well, one of these days I hope to get lasik. Even if it doesn't make my vision perfect, I'd love to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and actually see the clock without picking it up, or see what the heck I'm doing while in the shower.
I went to the DMV yesterday... and I can't pass the minimum requirements for the eye test (20/40 in one eye...I'm 20/50 ) so I have to go get an eye exam this week and I might actually be stuck with these glasses this time
I have terrible vision, I can't see 9 inches in front of me. That means my glasses are extremely strong. It hurts a lot when I wear them, but now I'm kind of used to them.
