Since I missed out on the 2 disc thats now OOP, I would gladly buy a PE of Sleeping Beauty.

Whilst the previous 2 disc of Sleeping Beauty was certainly good as with most Disney releases it could have been better. As has been mentioned, there's plenty of material from the vault which could have been added to the DVD release which wasn't and a more in depth documentary would be welcome.

Here in Belgium and The Netherlands, Sleeping beauty is officialy planned for 2008 as a 2-disc platinum edition.

Here are a few other official dates:

It better be worth the double-dip. I will be buying the PE of SB, just because I like to collect them. I'm weird that way.

Escapay wrote: I'm perfectly content with the two-disc SE as well (it's got a nice selection of bonus material, awesome commentary, and some great related vintage shorts), but will upgrade/double-dip if the time comes and the features look worth it. Hopefully its Platinum double-dip will be better than Peter Pan's...
I know what you mean. I got the PE of PP, and then two weeks ago I was in Game Stop and I saw the 2002 SE of PP and I got it just to see what it was like, and there isn't much of an improvement.

If Sleeping Beauty does get a PE release, I don't think I'll double-dip. The SE is already pretty fantastic.

Maybe next time they can get the aspect ratio correct. It should be taken from the 65mm elements and presented in a 2.2:1 ratio. The current dvd crops a portion of the top and bottom (you can't even see the entire MPAA info in the opening credits...compare it to the pan and scan side.) They over matted this big time. Yes, I want them to present it correctly next time.
