WELCOME TO DISNEY VILLAIN IDOL!

This is a competition in which 24 of the meanest, cruelest, and evillest Disney villains battle it out for your votes. This game will have the exact same format of the show “American Idol.” That means you get UNLIMITED VOTES!!

Here is how it works.

I have rounded up 24 of the best Disney villains. They are split into two groups of 12 – one group features Disney villains before the 1980s. The second group are the current villains – from the 1980s until now. ONLY villains from the Disney animated classes were considered.

Now, here is how this will work. I will first post Group 1 – the villains before the 1980s. You will then vote for your favorite villain. You can VOTE AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE FOR AS MANY DIFFERENT VILLAINS AS YOU LIKE!! Voting is open for 24 hours. Once voting is completed, the two villains with the LOWEST number of votes will be eliminated. Then, the next day I will post Group 2 – with the villains from the 1980s until today. Same deal – vote for 24 hours, and the two with the lowest number of votes are eliminated.

This will continue like that – the two lowest villains from each group will be eliminated, until 6 from each group remain. At that point, they will be combined to form the Top 12 Disney Villains – at which point, one villain is eliminated each round. The last villain standing wnis!!

This game will help support this website, because I will buy the winning villain’s movie off Amazon – through Ultimate Disney of course!

I'm not a big fan of this group of villains. The next one will be much harder. I'm backing one horse here, because I really want him to get to the finals.

This is very fun! I hope those I voted for all stay in. By the way, why do you call the villains after the 80's the "current villains"? All the Disney villains are currently loved (or hated) today! And current would be more 2000's, I would think.

That's very true, I just meant in terms of the film's release. Group 1 is all the films from before the 1980s, and Group 2 is all of them after.

I just needed a way to divide them into two groups. And, since half of them are before 1980s and half are after, I figure that's the best (really the only) way to divide them!

I really do appreciate all the votes. I was afraid that at the beginning rounds, with 12 villains to vote for, only maybe 2 or 3 villains would get all the votes, leaving 9 with zero. But seriously, each villain has gotten votes so far -- which surprised me, because even being the serious Disney freak I am, there were some in this group that I didn't even recognize!!

So keep the votes coming -- you still have a few hours before the next group goes up!!

I just wanted to say that I know these pictures are from the official Disney archives site, and Disney made a HUGE mistake! The picture that is supposed to show the Horned King is a picture of one of the Cauldron Born soldiers! Disney didn't get their own villain right...but I gues it's because no one really knows aything about The Black Cauldron.

I'm glad you've mentioned that, DisneyDuster. I remember going to the Disney site and thinking, 'who's this imposter?'. The Horned King deserves a little more recognition, particularly if even Disney don't 'recognise' him.

All I can say is, I'm glad we can vote for more than one villain. I voted for four villains in the 'current' category, but the first category is definitely the peak of Disney Villainy for me, and I ended up voting for nearly all of them (giving some more votes than others, of course). I can't wait to see who wins!

It's interesting that the first category is very villainess-dominated, and the second is very villain-dominated. Except for Ursula and possibly Chernabog, I'd be surprised if any of the male villains in the classic category or the female villains in the current category made it to the top 12.

I suspect we will be seeing Ursula and Captain Hook in the top 12. But I could be wrong.

This has always bothered me, but I never did anything about it. I want to send an e-mail to Dave Smith, and inform him of this error.

Thanks for the correction, guys!! I've never seen The Black Cauldron so I had no idea about that!

Welcome to the first results of this game!!!

Four villains are about to be eliminated .... I will begin with the first group.

This is the group with villains before the 1980s. Just as a reminder, here they are:

Here is how it will work. I will, in no particular order, one by one, show a villain. I will then reveal if that villian is safe, or is eliminated. If the villain is safe, they did not get the lowest or second-lowest number of votes, and will be here for the next round!!

Let's get to it!!

I'll start with Lady Tremaine.

Tremaine.... the votes came in.

And, you are SAFE!!!

Maleficent ..... you are next.

I will now have both Curella and Medusa together for this one. As you know, two villains are going home ......

How about this? One of these two is SAFE and in the next round. The other one got the LOWEST number of votes.

Well, we just said goodbye to two from the first group. Now, we move on to the second group -- the villains from the 1980s and beyond!!
