Hannah Montana and High School Musical Concert DVDs- June 26

Post by James »

Here's some good news for fans of the two Disney Channel shows Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The front page has this info listed-
New episode compilations of the Disney Channel comedies "Hannah Montana" and "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" have been tentatively slated for release in July. The Volume 2 DVDs, titles to be determined, are each expected to hold four episodes and a bonus feature.
That's good news for fans of the shows. The sooner we get these episode compilations out of the way, the sooner we can start on season sets. I predict about two more 4 episode DVDs will be released of each of these shows, before Disney will start to think of releasing season sets, as we've seen actually happen with Lizzie McGuire, and we've heard they were thinking about, as with Kim Possible and That's So Raven.
Any thoughts?

I would love to have the "Lizzie McGuire" Season 1 box set, but, without a Season 2 set, I'm less likely to buy it. I wonder when (or if) we'll see season sets of these other shows. Isn't "Phil of the Future" over now? And "That's So Raven"? If so, they would more than likely release those first. Part of me wants to buy the compilation DVDs, but, if they'll be selling box sets sometime in the near future, I'll probably hold off. I still want the "Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers" and "DuckTales" boxed sets, but am holding off for now (lack of $).

Lizzie is released complete in R2 (UK) and R4 (AUS)

I for myself doubt there will be any more season sets....since disney seems to be happy releasing a few episodes from each show..

I gave up hope long ago so I made my own box sets. I have TSL Season 1, TSR season 1-3 complete and only 2 more eps from season 4 missing.

maybe in summer I will have TSL season 2 and HM season 1 complete....I hope

Hey guys, Luke just posted this on the front page-
The second DVD compilation of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" has been bumped up to a June release. The disc, titled Pop Star Profile, will include a never-before-seen episode plus interviews with star Miley Cyrus and her family. There is no word yet if the second release of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" has also been moved up to coincide with Pop Star Profile's release.
Hopefully TSL gets bumped up too. I can't wait for the cover art to come in, and to find out specifically what episodes and bonus features are on each of the discs.

Why can't they just bump this from release totally? There is no quality in either of these shows, and you all know how I feel about "Lizzie". I suppose if you are a 'tween' then these shows would appeal to you, but my granddaughter thinks they are both boring shows, and has even asked me not to get either of these collections. And she gave me her "Lizzie McGuire" stuff to sell for her.

Why is it that people continually whinge about what I say on some threads, and then Bill comes along, complains about a ton of things, on as many threads as possible, and no one says anything? This isn't an attack on you Bill, because you have every right to whinge about this things, but it's just annoying that no one ever says anything about your whining, and when I say a few things in some threads, everyone gets out the torches and pitchforks. It's just a tad annoying.......................
And they're all right shows, too. :P

Some developments from the front page-
Disney has confirmed a June 26th DVD release for "Hannah Montana": Pop Star Profile. The four-episode compilation will include a never-before-seen episode, a live concert performance of the Season 2 song "Nobody's Perfect", and the behind-the-scenes featurette "The Real Miley Cyrus." Arriving the same day and at the same price ($19.99 SRP) is High School Musical: The Concert - Extreme Access Pass. The 56-minute feature on the nationwide tour will be accompanied by "U Direct" (a feature which lets you call the shots for a concert video), the featurette "High School Musical: On the Road", and a sneak peek at High School Musical 2. Click here for cover art for both of these DVDs.
Seems like we'll have to waite a bit for a new Suite Life DVD, of which the cover art page says is subtitled "Tipton Trouble". Because only a Hannah Montana and HSM DVD are coming, I've decided to change to thread title, but you can post here about your thoughts on a TSL- Vol. 2 release, until we got some more word on it. The HM art looks dodgy to me, as does the HSM one to an extent. I don't really get the U Direct thing, sounds bit complicated to do, and kind of not worth peoples time. It's nice that they're releasing the concert though, shame that they haven't done the concert with Zac Efron, even though Drew Seeley is the actual singer. I've seen a bit of Ashley Tisdale's bit, it looked good.

I'm so excited for the HSM Concert DVD- I'll most likely be buying it the day it comes out! Yay!
And, it's not Disney's fault that Zac Efron already was working on a movie...I, personally, would never give up an opportunity to work for Disney, but apparently being a working actor means more to him. :)

I'm still holding out for the HM season sets, if they ever come (same with the other Disney Channel shows).

Yeah, that's kind of a given with all Disney cover art for the first few weeks within issued. Luke's posted some info about the press release that's come in for Pop Star Profile-
Disney has issued a press release for Hannah Montana: Pop Star Profile. The announcement reveals that the June 26th DVD will hold four Season One episodes which all center on the budding relationship between Miley and famous TV actor Jake Ryan. The disc will also include a concert performance of "Nobody's Perfect" and the featurette "The Real Miley Cyrus." See the full press release for more information.
Here's the link- http://www.ultimatedisney.com/hannahmon ... e-626.html
It also says that the complete first season episodes “New Kid in School,” “More Than A Zombie To Me,” “Good Golly Miss Dolly” and “People Who Use People" will all feature on the release. Now, all we need are those season sets...........
And a press release for the HSM Concert DVD. I hope that a few HSM stars video clips are included, like Ashley's and Vanessa's.

And here it is. A quote from the front page by Luke-
Disney has formally announced the DVD release of High School Musical: The Concert - Extreme Access Pass, an hour-long presentation of the nationwide tour spawned by the record-shattering 2006 telemovie.
The disc launches the Disney Channel's new D*Concert series. See the press release for more information.

Sounds like an interesting DVD with the whole different angles thing. Too bad we don't get any extra music vids, but oh well. I guess this is kind of like a bonus in itself really.
