Last post - leaving forum.

Not a joke. It's a sad day when another poster causes such grief that you feel you don't belong on the forum anymore.

I've ended up in an argument with Reyquila this last week. A silly argument, to begin with, but one which has turned nasty and abusive. I've now been accused of posting death wishes against him, which is a blatant lie.

I simply posted that I wished he'd go away, and it was intended to be very tongue in cheek. I was taken to task by Luke over it, and I apologised.

Next thing I'm being told by Reyquila that I've posted a death wish. This is from the person who's been posting increasingly abusive comments about me over the course of the week.

Someone who constantly needs to brag to other members that they aren't fit to call themselves Disney fans because their collection of pre-school DVD's doesn't match his in size.

I feel the forum has got to be a very sorry place this week, and I don't see a place on it for me anymore.

I always thought this was one of the most friendly forums I'd ever visited. You know, I still do, but it only needs one disruptive element to spoil things for people - and at this point in time, it's been spoilt for me, and I don't see a way forward and a place for myself on the boards.

I'm sorry if I've caused offence to anybody with my posts in the last week or so. I hope my posts have been viewed with interest over the last few months, but this is it for me. If I do return at some point, it will be with a new id.

Reyquila, I hope you're proud of yourself - you've driven another forum member away with your abuse.

The person I'll miss the most on the forum is atlanticaunderthesea, who seems to share my love for Disney Princesses and Disneyland Paris. Atlantica, I've found a new forum that is dedicated to DLRP, and I hope you'll pay it a visit, and become a member - I think you'll like it there.

C'mon you can be the bigger and better person and just be cool about it, just let it blow away. I completely understand your point in that argument and it just seems like it will never end...believe me I wanted to click the reply button soooo many times just to show how arrogant that guy can be...does he even post in the forums outside that thread? Anyways don't leave you still got lots of buddies here! Were all still fans of the Walt Disney company so just forget about that arument and continue your membership here at UltmateDisney...A lot of people have had the same kind of argument with Reyquila...Even I had my little rant about it. But I learned to let those kinds of arguments go...its not worth getting upset about things like that.

Anyways I don't know if this will help..or encourage you to stay. I don't even really know you but it's still really sad when someone leaves a nice forum because of stuff like that. And I definitely don't want you to leave. Plus you have the best Belle avatars.

But PLEASE STAY DARTH_DEETO!! but if you really feel the need to leave then I won't try to stop you anymore since it is your choice...and I wish you the best where ever you go. You will be missed.

Don't leave over something stupid and childish like a silly arguement. Let the mods sort everything out, wait for the dust to settle, and give this place another chance. There's so much love and sense of belonging here to sever all ties if you ask me.

There are going to be people like that on a Board of any size. Whether it be at work or school you are going to have to learn to deal with thinks in life. I suggest you stay and just enjoy the people you like here.

while I don't know you at all, I have to agree with everyone else here. It would be silly to leave just because one member bothers you. The world is filled with people who love to annoy others, but you must not let them win. Especially over something as, you put it, a "silly argument". Just ignore this person and move on. Hope to see you back on here soon.

I agree with what your fellow forum members have already said , but I still felt compelled to respond.... That other dude has some inadequacy issues, and I truly feel sorry for him. I love collecting Disney, but I dont believe thats what he is doing... anyways, you have been a great contributor! just dont let little people get to you... skim over him, thats what I do.

In asking darth_deetoo to stay here at UD (and I certainly hope that he does - we need a stronger DLRP presence around here), let's remember not to launch any attacks at reyquila. That certainly doesn't make an unpleasant situation any better. Though members here will inevitably have disagreements, there's room for both darth_deetoo and reyquila here at UD.

My advice to all parties is to steer clear of any potential negativity and let us moderators handle conflict, which is something we're always addressing where it's needed. I personally don't see a need to leave the forum, but that's just me. Darth_deetoo, I sincerely hope that you change your mind. If not, best of luck!

The mood I was in this morning, I really was going to leave the forum.

I had some other problems going off this morning, which caused me quite a bit of inconvenience today - and after a few days of petty sparring on the forum, the latest turn it had taken really got to me.

Everyone can see the posts that have been made, and will make their own judgements about the situation. I know I wasn't innocent. I'd said some time ago that I was going to ignore this person, and I became irritated, and allowed myself to be drawn in. The problem is things like this can spiral out of control.

For my part in this, I sincerely apologise to anyone who has been offended and irritated by my actions. Please forgive the dramatics this morning, although I am thankful for all the supporting comments.

I've had time to think things over, and I will stay. The day has gone from being frustrating and difficult, to actually being quite a good day. I ended up discovering I was getting an unexpected windfall of cash a week ago, which has come through for me after a few hiccups this morning.

With that, I've ended up getting a PS3 console, primarily for a Blu Ray DVD player. I'm particularly looking forward to Disney starting to put some of their A list titles onto the format in the future.

I've also decided, to book another week at Disneyland Paris, for the back end of summer (I go for 5 days on the 17th September).

So things have gone from a rather depressing situation this morning, to be being quite upbeat, and with the support shown above, I've reconsidered my position.

Glad you've decided to stay. The few moderators here and myself really try to do everything we can to make this place as pleasant as possible. We're not perfect and no matter how hard we try, we can't catch everything without literally reading every post. Thus, you're encouraged to contact one of us if you feel you've been slighted in a serious way. It was just pretty much dumb luck that I happened to come across the comment yesterday. Don't worry that you are held to a different standard than others; I feel any personal attack spotted needs to be addressed so that our one basic rule (no personal attacks) is upheld.

From what I've seen, you'll find hostility in all parts of the Internet, and by comparison, I think UD's problems tend to be fairly mild. Thanks to all for being patient and understanding over the demands of moderation.
