Cinderella III Timeline

Post by Spottedfeather »

I was watching Cinderella III and something made me think. When is Cinderella supposed to take place. In the movie, it says that Cinderella and the prince have been married for a year. In CII, if I recall correctly, they're coming back from their honeymoon. Also in CII, Anastacia got a baker boyfriend. But in CIII, which seems to take place a year after CII, Anastacia seems a bit like a biotch. She steals Fairy Godmother's magic wand and gives it to her mother. Only in the end does she come over to the good side. She kept saying that she wanted someone to love her the way that the prince loves Cinderella. What happened to the baker boyfriend ? Did they break up and that's why Anastacia is so mean ? Just doesn't make any sense. Doesn't Disney have a continuity department ?
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

This should really go here.

Anyway, to the answer, I think that Disney made Cindy III so that it wasn't connected to Cindy II at all. That is why in some countries the III/3 was completely dropped, so that people wouldn't have to/want to buy the flop called "Cinderella II: When Dreams Come True."

I've wondered about that myself. It seems that Cinderella III takes place before the third episode of Cinderella II, and that the third episode played out differently after the events of C III.

After all, I'm sure Lady Tremaine and Drizella would have been banished from the kingdom, if not hanged!

i believe the timeline is this:
Cinderella- Cinderella 2, episode 1- Cinderella 2, episode 2- Cinderella 3- Cinderella 2, episode 3.
i believe this because episoe 1 is when they return from the honeymoon but the other two could be whenever since we don't know the exact dates.

But the first two episodes were erased after Cindy III, and only the Fairy Godmother remembered what originally happened. So how could the mice put them into the storybook?

I agree with, Sequel. I think Disney is trying to pretend that they never even created the crap that is Cinderella II: Nightmares Come True.

It's not like the events of the first two episodes could not have simply happened again. The third movie wouldn't change that.

I think Disneyfreak1990 has gotten the timeline correct.

i like the third one because if out of the two stepsisters to have a happy ending at least it was Anastasia. that one was just so romantic and this usually attracts girls.

I like the first one because of my favorite Cinderella pairing, and because Prudence is my favorite character ever created for a sequel.

Interestingly, she was the only character from the second movie to really make it into the third.

actually the baker made an apperance in a painting at the end remember. what i find really funny is how the prince is always called The Prince, Son, Your Highness, Your Great but never by a name.

At least the third movie made some attempt to give the Prince a little more personality.

The Baker made an appearance at the end, but I'm saying he didn't really do anything in the movie itself. And I have noticed that about the Prince. Actually, all the human male characters are just called by their titles! "Oh, this is a guy. He doesn't need a name."

actually i think he's the only male character who marries a princess without a name besides Snow Whites.
Snow White has Prince Charming.
Belle has Prince Adam. i've always heard thats his real name but i never heard it from the movies.
Jasmine has Aladdin.
Auroa has Prince Philip.
Ariel has Eric.
Mulan has Shang.
Pocahontas doesn't get anyone sadly.
Elionwey gets Taran.
Kida gets Milo.
Giselle gets whats his name.
Mandy gets ???.
Meg gets Herc.
Jane gets Tarzan.

gee we have a lot of guys with names here don't we?

What do you mean? Oh! Prudence and the Duke were paired, is that what you meant?
Disneyfreak1990 wrote:actually i think he's the only male character who marries a princess without a name besides Snow Whites.
Snow White has Prince Charming.
I know they tend to be wrong, but from Wikipedia:
The Walt Disney animated version of Cinderella that appeared in 1950 is the source of the name in English; in the Charles Perrault version of Cinderella, and in most pre-Disney versions, the prince is not specifically identified as Prince Charming; nor is the character of the Prince named Prince Charming — or for that matter anything else — in the earlier Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Since that film appeared, the name has been bestowed upon the highly similar characters who appear in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.
I swear I also read in official Disney texts that he was Prince Charming. In any case, if no one ever heard of the name until 1950, I'd guess it's from Cinderella.

Yeah, Disney has said in the FAQ section of their website (which I can no longer find due to the site's remodeling) that Snow's prince is just the Prince while Cinderella's prince is Prince Charming. There's even a piece of concept art in the Cinderella DVD galleries that identifies him as Prince Charming.

Disney has it listed on their official website that the Prince's name is Prince Charming.
