And the good? The bad isn't really all that bad:
While the overall story is solid, the character choices are more than a little bit weird and somewhat disturbing. The future Robinsons seem more at home in an insane asylum than part of a wealthy but eccentric family. One item I noticed from the Robinson family was a bedridden, morbidly obese family member that somehow disappeared from the poster ads. This was a character that should have been removed, even if he were in the Original book by William Joyce.
The characters were made weird on purpose. "If you think your family's different, wait 'til you meet the family of the future." as quoted on the poster! As for the obese kid, I kind of wish he was taken out but until I watch the movie to see his significance, I can't say anything yet. He probably symbolizes for something really important.

Thanks for posting, Julian Carter. :D

On Sunday was in Germany the Pre-Premiere and almost all of the people I know think it is good and by far bette than "Chicken Little".
I've not seen it yet but I guess MTR is pretty good :)

Thanks.

This is really a misstep by Disney here not to provide a list.

Regal Theatres has added 109 Digital Projectors to their theatres for Robinsons! :P Mines one of them!! :D YEAH!! Here's a list of the newly equipped theatres:

Regal Entertainment Group Offers Digital 3D Entertainment on 109 Screens
Seventy-five New Digital Projectors Added
Regal Entertainment Group a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, today announced 75 more screens are being equipped for presentation of Walt Disney Pictures’ MEET THE ROBINSONS in Disney Digital 3D utilizing the REAL D cinema system. Regal Entertainment Group will offer the 3D feature on a total of 109 screens when the film opens Friday, March 30.

“Regal Entertainment Group is proud to increase the number of locations where we provide the latest in REAL D Digital 3D technology. By adding another 75 locations in time for MEET THE ROBINSONS in Disney Digital 3D, Regal continues to be an industry leader with 109 screens capable of Digital 3D in 26 states,” stated Greg Dunn, President of Regal Entertainment Group. “Regal is confident that our moviegoers will be impressed with the 3D effects in Disney’s MEET THE ROBINSONS.”

In Disney’s MEET THE ROBINSONS, Lewis is a brilliant inventor with a surprising number of clever inventions to his credit. His latest and most ambitious project is the Memory Scanner, a machine that will help him find his birth mother so they can become a family. But before he can find her, his invention is stolen by the dastardly Bowler Hat Guy and his diabolical hat and constant companion, Doris. Lewis has all but given up hope when a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson whisks our bewildered hero away in a time machine and together they team up to track down Bowler Hat Guy in a showdown that ends with an unexpected and unbelievable twist of fate.

For the Digital 3D presentation of MEET THE ROBINSONS, audience members will utilize comfortable, lightweight glasses to view the film’s 3D effects. These glasses can be taken home as souvenirs of the movie. MEET THE ROBINSONS in Disney Digital 3D can be seen at the following Regal Entertainment Group theatres in these markets:

Re: Theatre list for 3D Meet the Robinsons?

I'm taking a vacation through some states, want to plan on which city I'm going to view it at.
Best thing to do is to go to www.movietickets.com and check the times for movies this weekend. Just type in the city you'll be in and it will pull up a list of theaters. If it's in 3D, it'll say it in blue print under the "Meet the Robinsons". Thats how I figured out which theaters in my area are showing it. I have to drive an hour to the nearest theater, which is a pain, but I'm not missing this movie in 3D.
Thanks! Looks like two of my local theaters will be showing it in 3D. I wonder how long they will show it in 3D, cause I might not be able to get out and see it this weekend.

Yes! The theater over the boarder that usually gets the 3D releases will have it. The website didn't have info for Friday, so this is good news. Now when will Wisconsin get some 3D theaters? We have one Imax, but it's at a museum so we don't get the Disney releases and we have a handful of Ultrascreens. I don't think there is even a single digital theater in the state! We're not all stereotypical podunk bumpkins! lol.

A smaller chain, Rave Motion pictures has it 3-d in my local theater here in Florida, and the one in Melbourne about 50 minutes is playing one too. Most Rave theaters are probably playing it 3-d.

My local paper gave it a 7 out of 10 saying the 3D saves an otherwise mediocre movie, but sadly my theatre does not carry the 3D version  .

I usually disagree with reviews of animated films, anyways. Most professional reviewers are paid to nitpick and I usually feel that they overanalyze things (except for UD reviews, which I feel are as close to perfect as possible). And the majority of adults wouldn't go to an animated film without a child present, so I think they automatically exclude themselves from the target audience, even though Disney tries to add something for everybody. I like Entertainment Weekly because they provide a chart of what many reviews gave a film and at the end, tell you the overall grade so you get multiple opinions. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love "Meet the Robinsons" and I can't wait to see it in 3D tomorrow! :D

Full list of Meet the Robinsons theaters in 3D?

Post by MouseHouse55 »

Does anyone know how to find out what theaters are showing the film in 3D? I know there is a site to find out what Regal Cinemas are showing it, but I don't have any of those in my area. Any help would be appreciated.

54% rotten! :(
Meet the Robinsons is basically just for kids and Disney knows that audience better than any studio currently in operation. Adults should only attend if they've got a young one in tow or are really into singing frogs and goofy dinosaurs.
What is it with animated films being just for kids? Now I am really getting mad. I'd like to tell all the film critics out there that think that in cartoons, "adults will more than likely find themselves stifling a few yawns", that I NEVER YAWN DURING AN ANIMATED FILM. I normally find myself yawning during a LIVE-ACTION FILM. With all the due respect, I find animated films more invigorating than live-action, and I am sick, sick and SICK of reading animated movie reviews saying that the film is good but it's best if you go to the theatre with a child as an excuse.

What the!? I am not embarrassed to go and watch any animated film on my own! :x Tomorrow I will be watching MEET THE ROBINSONS on MY OWN, and if the vain and chewing-gum chewing supposedly "cool" sexy girl selling tickets so much as gives me a strange stare, I will blast her apart with a box full of hydrogen bombs!!

I'm sorry for that rant, but I am just soooo sick! I am so sick! Really sick! Read James Berardinelli's reviews and you will often come across such despisable elements in his reviews for animated features. Even Roger Ebert, whom I really like, in his Home on the Range review, says that parents will likely sneak looks at their watches during the film.

Well, if they don't feel like watching it why did they pay for it in the first place? Don't like innocent Disney cartoons, deary? Then go watch Scary Movie or Jackass: The Movie! You like those don't you? They're not boring are they? Yeah ... go watch films with no artistic merit at all. Cartoons are not for you. They're too childish, only fit for children ... embarrassing. BAH!

It seems that MTR is being criticized for having a "messy" story, probably due to Lasseter's changes.

Oh ... and one critic says that Disney still don't have the Pixar touch. . . . . . .

guess I'd better press the "Submit" button, before I blow.

Well on the positive side, it's currently 78%, which is the same ranking as Cars.

However, if you're a true fan, are you really not going to see it because of few critical snobs give it negative/mixed ratings?
