Post by TurdBizzler »

These are the three best movies staring Kevin Costner:

1. Field of Dreams
2. Bull Durham
3. Dances with Wolves

This virtually indisputable

1. JFK - the only Kevin Costner movie I have seen, and it's very good

2. The Postman - never seen it, but he sings a duet with Amy Grant over the end credits

Obviously, The Bodyguard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Dances with Wolves, Bull Durham, and Field of Dreams are movies I really need to see.

Haven't gotten a proper viewing of Bull Durham. But the only good KC movies are Field of Dreams, The Untouchables, and JFK. (Still need to get a proper viewing of the last one.) And do note, these movies are not good because of Kevin Costner. They happen to be good in spite of him.

Given that he is one of the people single-handedly keeping the Western alive over the last few decades, I'd easily have a list looking something like:

1. Dances with Wolves
2. Open Range
3. Wyatt Earp

as well as...
4. JFK
5. The Untouchabes

Wow. There are heaps of KevCo films I've loved over the years. He rocks!

I have a strange fondness for a film called 'Fandango' as well...

None, I think he's a terrible actor but if I was forced to choose I would say Dances With Wolves.

The Bodyguard is one of my favorite movies (please, don't throw things at me) but I do realize it was probably not one of his best performances. He was great in JFK.

1. Field of Dreams
2. Silverado
3. Untouchables
4. Bull Durham
5. Tin Cup
6. No Way Out
7. For the Love of the Game

One and two are two of my favorite movies ever although he has his share of stinkers too.

*Takes Mr. Toad's resisted urge, combines it with his own, and Escapay throws a carton of rotton eggs at Simba3, but since Escapay couldn't throw to save his life, it misses and hits Kevin Costner instead*

Have to agree with others, that some movies are just really really good regardless if the Costner is in it or not. Though I'm sure Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves would have been much stronger with another actor. (then again, the last time I saw that was on cable like 10 years ago and I've avoided it since)

Hypothetically... what would you be the most upset to have thrown at you?

I re-watched The Bodyguard about 2 years ago, thinking it was pretty darn good the last time I had seen it (many years prior), and came to the conclusion... that the movie is absolutely dreadful.

The only Kevin Costner movies I think are any good - Bull Durham and The Untouchables. It seems irrevocably like he would be... ultra-cheesy in Dances with Wolves. And I have never finished Field of Dreams - it is horrid. And, ladies and gentlemen, you can throw things at me. But that movie is truly terrible. Sappy and lame don't even begin to describe it.

While I'm not a big fan of Kevin's, I have to say that my fav movie that he happened to be in was The Upside of Anger.

Until his recent movie "The Guardian", I had these favorite Kevin Costner movies:

Silverado
Open Range
Wyatt Earp
Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
and my all-time favorite "American Flyers", how many of you have seen this movie? It was one of his first movies, and I still think it is the best he has ever done.
