Well I think you're being a little bit harsh there Rahel. She has BiPolar Disorder. An actual mental illness. One that makes you angry, and irritated and then happy and then sad and then depressed and angry again. And on top of that she has bulimia. Something that makes you vomit infear of being too fat. And on top of that she has two kids, a divorce, a career and constant media scrutiny on her. And then she has you saying that she's whack and horrible. Just think of her life and how hard it is before you judge her, and yes, if I wasn't so close to being suspended, I'd be swearing at you. But as it is, I'm not. Bottom line- Britney rules.

I didn't know that she was bullimic. That's so sad. I really hope that she gets the help that she needs. I'm a fan of hers, but look what happened to Michael Jackson- sure, it's an extreme comparison, but once he did some "crazy" things (and the child molestation charges are extremely different from anything Britney has done), he lost a chunk of his fanbase. Some people liked Britney because she was a girl-next-door type. I don't think less of her, but I do hope that she gets better.
I don't think Britney is bi-polar. Others who are bi-polar have some form on insecurity about them, especially when they are "down". However, I have never heard people say this about Britney, even when everyone from her PA to dog walker was interviewed after the recent "incidents".
Their was a very informative programme about bi-polar personalities by Stephen Fry on UK TV recently:
Their was a very informative programme about bi-polar personalities by Stephen Fry on UK TV recently:
Fry has spoken publicly about the experience of living with a bipolar disorder and has made and presented a documentary about the condition and his personal experience thereof Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic-Depressive.[5] In the documentary, he interviews celebrities (such as Robbie Williams, Rick Stein, Carrie Fisher, Richard Dreyfuss, and Tony Slattery) among others who also suffer from the illness. The programme was broadcast BBC Two in September 2006 and March 2007.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
The press always pic on the bad stuff about her; take a look at these pictures taken a few days ago. She looks happier, healthy and very slim an trim! Her website has also recieved 4 million letters offering support to her from her fans. She is said to be 'deeply touched' by them.

and by the way i dont think she had a hard life ever, until she made it hard by acting out doing drugs and partying whether she is bi polar or bulimic or not......i believe she is one of the luckiest people in the world, esp career wise, and she made it hard on herself by letting all of her morals and everything she stood for go away....if she is bulimic and bipolar, which i dont know how aanyone would know that unless you know her personally, cause the media is full of lies and goes above and beyond for everything....

I don't like Britney Spears and I have to agree with Rahel a little bit: Britney Spears has two kids so she should get herself together and be there for them. It's not an excuse to take drugs and act Paris Hilton-like. Why didn't we know about the bipolar thing before if it's true? She had a busy and stressful life before and I think that they only use this as an excuse which is offensive to people who really have to live with this disorder.

In Britney's (and James') defense, regardless of being bipolar or not, sometimes something in life just "snaps" and you need to get help. I'm friends with someone who is just about to get divorced- his wife is now at a treatment facility. They have 3 kids. It's not like she wanted her life to spiral down...sometimes people just need help to get healthy/better again. People can't always help how they feel, and that's why treatment centers are a good thing- they'll help you get your life in order.

I don't want to argue with that, if you know that you need help and are able to ask for it, it's great.
But I really can't say that for Britney Spears. As I said, this Paris Hilton-like behavior is just stupid and if you have children, you're forced to think more about your actions.
If she seeks for help now and stays at a clinic, it's great. But it won't do any good if she ony stays there for a day every time.

Exactly. Of course, many stressed people are bipolar and all bipolar people have extremely different personalities - but Britney Spears? Ugh. She's an insult.Lilo wrote:I don't like Britney Spears and I have to agree with Rahel a little bit: Britney Spears has two kids so she should get herself together and be there for them. That's hot.
Ha, thanks blackcauldron85 for the help.
Adding to the debate again,(not sure if I should though), maybe she didn't know she had bipolar disorder, and has only just undergone treatment for it. She probably just thought that she was stressed out, and didn't realise she actually had a problem until recently. That can happen. I mean it takes a while to truly find out who you are, and unfortunately for Britney, she's had to put aside her, I guess, self discovery, and focus on her career, meaning that it's taken her longer to fully realise the roots of her problem.
Oh and BTW, her official website http://www.britneyspears.comis undergoing a makeover too, and will be back and up and running soon. You can leave messages for Britney there. Thats what Atlantica was referring to in an earlier post.

I'm sorry to continue adding as well, but I simply had to agree with James - and correct his spelling. In fact, the majority - majority, not entirety - of bipolar people in my personal life are extremely career focused and were officially diagnosed in their late 30's and early 40's. The thing that bothers me is, I love these people dearly. They act -nothing- like Britney, and it's bothersome that the only time bipolar people make the news and such is when they make choices such as hers. No one ever hears about the successful business person or the head disciplinarian at a private academy. Why? Oh, I don't know, at the worst people see "quirky" or "adult nerd," and fairly normal people never are seen in society as representing a disorder.James wrote:Adding to the debate again,(not sure if I should though), maybe she didn't know she had bipolar disorder, and has only just undergone treatment for it. This coming from someone who has Martha Stewart on her list of role models.

That's hot.
