Hercules DVD Insert

Post by A Doug's Life »

I was wondering if anyone has a copy of Hercules that has an insert in it.
I just bought a copy at Wal-Mart and it does not have a chapter insert.
Did I get a bad one or are they all like this?

I too, did not have the animals of the outback book, but did have an insert. My disc, is golg collection. I believe Doug is right. If all disney dvd's are w/o inserts now, except for special ones, then when they sent out new shipment of herc, sword, cauldron, ect, they must have been without inserts. You're really not missing anything, but i geuss it is the thought that counts.

I wonder if we'll ever see a 2-disc "Hercules" DVD? I'm sure they've got the material to fill it, what was on the Herc Laserdisc?
Dust? Anyone? No?

I don't know, but certainly it wasn't a full loaded edition like "Pocahontas" and "Hunchaback". I think they are going to release a "Special Edition" someday (with new anamorphic transfer and some extras added to it), but I don't think we'll se a CE in the near future (maybe "Mulan" will have one)

I hope so, since "Hercules" is a very nice film (although it's not one of my favorites).
I am looking forward to the January special editions - please, please, please Disney, they MUST be 2-disc sets!! Anyway, I'm already happy I will finally be able to get a restored print of "Pocahontas" with anamorphic transfer. This is one of my favorites, and I'd love to have a Collector's edition of it (well, I would love to have Collector's Editions of all the 42 features, anyway...)!

What a terrible DVD this is! I just bought it because I love "Pocahontas". The only good thing about it is the cover (wich is much better than the childish European version). The 5.1 audio mix is also good, but unspetacular - it could be a lot better! I hope they fix it putting a DTS track on the future DVD.

That would be awesome! I know this is almost impossible, but I hope someday they decide to release a CE edition of "Saludos Amigos/Caballeros", with all those great extras that were released on LD! These are two of the most underrated Disney films ever, and they have a lot of rich backstage information!

Could you imagine a Collector's Edition of "Black Cauldron"? Well, a guy can dream... If they decide to release it as a simple 'Special Edition' with anamorphic transfer and a making of featurette and deleted scenes attatched to it, I would already be soooo happy!

Well, they could release a CE edition of "Treasure Planet" - it wouldn't be expensive at all, since, as with "Lilo & Stitch", all the extras for a super-edition were produced, but not all of them were released!

The copy that I got for free from Disney's Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer had the Gold cover with Gold-labelled disc art and a Gold-labelled insert. However, no Animals of the Outback book.

This is all just a speculation, but take a look at the titles that are available at Wal-Mart. For the most part, almost all the Gold Collections are there EXCEPT those of which are rumored for special edition releases soon (i.e. Alice, Pocohontas etc). On that note I think it's interesting that there is no Mulan dvd. I know it was on moratorium, but so was the new Parent Trap and Inspector Gadget right? Perhaps they are preparing for a future big release of the following missing titles:

Mulan
Hunchback
Black Cauldron
Fox and Hound
Make Mine Music
Melody Time(i'm not sure if that was there or not)

Just something I noticed and had these crazy ideas about. Wouldn't two discs of these be awesome? I know a 2 disc set on any disney dvd would be awesome, but how about an unedited Make Mine Music, or Melody Time? Perhaps a Collector's Edition of Hunchback isn't that far away.....

well if they dont have them doesnt mean they're getting a re-release, wal mart doesnt carry all the tittles at once. plus they are not big sellers so they dont need to keep stocking them

I have zero "animals of the outback" booklets!!!! I have both Hercules and RDU and i didn't get a booklet in either of them !!!! Its unfair how you guys got one in Hercules which wasn't even supposed to have one and i was jipped in RDU where it supposedly came with one. Thats just like BVHE.... Oh well, such as life! :D

Anyway, (end of rant, back on topic) both my Hercules and RDU came with regular inserts...
