"Now!" CDs (in the U.S.)

Post by DisneyFreak5282 »

I know that in the U.K., the "Now That's What I Call Music" CDs are now up to Vol. sixty-something. In the U.S., they are going to release Now 24 on March 27th. Now my question is, how many do you think they'll make? I don't really care, but I'm just curious (I have all of the U.S. ones, including the Christmas ones -- except the Latino ones...).

Yeah, these were never any good. They might have been okay, like, in 1996, before the rise of iTunes, RealPlayer and Napster.

Yeah, the first like 5 or so were good ideas because nobody had iPod, iTunes, MP3 Players, etc. so they made a mix of the best songs of the year, but now they're getting old.

I also agree that this series needs to end, but what we really should be attacking is that awful "Kidz Bop" collection!

The problem is that they obviously sell very well. While I've never bought one myself, a lot of folks must be.

I used to buy the "Now" CDs. I've since sold the ones I had (I had about 1-20). I don't like the majority of new music out these days, so I wouldn't buy the newer "Now" CDs. I think they're good for people- you don't have to buy the whole CD for just the few singles that you want, since they'll show up on the Now CDs. Now everyone downloads their music- CDs still sell, so I think the series is a good idea. Maybe they should have "Now Pop", "Now Hip-Hop", "Now R&B", and "Now Country"- Now they seem to be very rap-heavy, which will deter people from buying them if they don't like rap. That was one of the reasons I stopped buying them.

Haha yes, me too. Those kids CANNOT sing for their lives. I mean, it's like, if you can't sing, why even attempt it?

I'll just go with - kids should never get together in groups and sing modern pop songs. They've even got them singing songs with curse words in them (I know, they don't let them curse) and songs by bands like Nickelback. When I heard that, let's just say you could hear my "WTF?!!!" from miles away. Oh yeah, let's have pop-kids sing depressing, self-indulgent, whiny, goth-wannabe, poser, crybaby "rock" songs just because they're huge on the charts. What is wrong with some people?!
