Disney Princess Voices

if only it were easier for them to get them all on contract to always do the voices... but there's no way they can do that, because the demand isn't consistent for them (like it would be on a TV series, where they'd do it constantly, season by season), but rather just whenever they're needed. and they also might have other projects going on, which is an obstacle... Haha, sorry, I'm rambling.

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to post that ChrisS! It seems as if the poor Princesess have had far more voices in German than the English speaking counterparts! I think a regular UD poster, Dottie, was upset that Ariel had been dubbed for the platinum edition DVD? Is she the second voice you list?

Also, I was wondering why Lea Salonga didnt voice either Jasmine or Mulan?! I love the original voices of Linda Larkin and Ming Na, but why didnt she just voice, say, Jasmine? She has a wonderful speaking voice, as well as being a wonderful singer. Just something I've always wondered.

Yes, in the german "Platinum Edition" has Ariel her second "horrorbile" voice Anna Carlsson.
Anna Carlsson has a wonderful Voice, but she is not good for Ariel.

I could upload soon times a few Voice Stamples.

Woh! Thank you thank you thank you ChrisS!! !! So wonderful of you to take such time and effort to do this! Its so interesting to listen to all the other voices! Snow White's i thought were exceptional, as well as Cinderella, Aurora and Belle. I didnt like Ariel's that much; the sweetness and purity of her voice wasnt there. They had a lot more separate singing and speaking voices than the english counterparts. Also, did walt aprove these voices as he did the originals?

Again, thank you so much for doing this! I'm off to listen to them all again!

I thought, as this about Princess voices, I thought that I would post the songs from The Little Mermaid section of the Kingdom Heart II game, as Jodi Benson, Pat Carrol and Kenneth Mars all came back to do their character voices. Along with CD Barnes !! !! I love all of these songs; do you think that they will use the Flounder voice from the game for TLM III? I hope so! Jodi rocks in all her songs, as usual! I hope you enjoy!

She could have either have been a Princess to King Triton, or his Queen Consort, or actual Queen.

On the Peter Pan Platinum Edition, I am 100% positive that it is Jennifer Hale narrating the story segment "Peter's Playful Prank" !

She also narrates the Desperate Housewives PC game; when you need hints or something her voice gives you instructions!

Even though she is officially the new voice of Cinderella, she still seems to be doing her narrating thing like she used to !

I thought that I would update this thread, in the light of new Disney Princesses being created, and see if anyone has any more news on how 'official' our list actually is.

Snow White : Carolyn Gardner (Speaking) / Melissa Disney (Singing)
I don't think we ever established who voices Snow White mostly out of the two of these ladies; it will be interesting to see if anymore information comes to light as the new Platinum Edition DVD is released.

Cinderella : Jennifer Hale (Speaking) / Tami Tappan (Singing)
This has been fully established; these are the new official voices of Cinderella.

Aurora : Erin Torpey (Speaking) / Cassidy Ladden (Singing)
These voices were used in 'A Kingdom Of Kindness', but on the Princess website, it seems as if Jennifer Hale is again voicing Aurora. It seems as if Disney does not know what to do with this character; drop her 'operatic' way of speaking and singing, and move her on to sound more 'modern' or keep with her original heritage. They must be going with the 'modern' feek as they were used on the Princess DVD.

Ariel : Jodi Benson
The 100% official voice of Ariel, and has been doing so for the past twenty years.

Belle : Paige O'Hara (Speaking) / Susan Egan (Singing)
Again, Disney seems unsure whether to drop Paige for Susan, or keep the original voice. In Belle's 'Enchanted Tale' trailer, Paige was speaking, but in the music preview, it was a different voice all together. Whether this was a demo, as the final vocal was not recorded, we don't know. But Susan sings for Belle on all CDs, and as far as I know, has not done any speaking yet.

Jasmine : Linda Larkin (Speaking) / Lea Salonga (Singing)
These two continue to be involved in all 'Jasmine' projects, from the parks, to Disney on Ice, to DVD spinoffs.

Pocahontas : Irene Bedard (Speaking) / Judy Kuhn (Singing)
No other voice actresses have replace these two, as far as I know.

Mulan : Ming Na (Speaking) / Lea Salonga (Singing)
Again, no other voice actresses have taken over these roles.

Tiana : Anika Noni Rose
We will preume, being a singer, she will voice both speaking and singing parts in the film.

Rapunzel : Kristin Chenoweth
We have no idea if this is official, but that is what has been reported. She was not the girl in the demo reel, but that could just have been anyone doing the voicework.

Well, this seems to be our new, 'official' list. If anyone thinks otherwise, let me know

I thought it was Reese Witherspoon who was dropped, and moved onto The Bear and the Bow. And Kristin Chenoweth took over Rapunzel. I could be wrong.
