Refurbishment: Splash Mountain and Rock N Roller Coaster?

Post by Chrissy31886 »

Any1 know what they're doing to either of these rides? Splash Mountain I can understand but Rock N Roller Coaster is so new I didn't think it would need to be closed for refurbishment yet.

I have actually not seen anything about either of these rides being closed for reburishment in WDW. In DL I know Splash Mountain is going to be closed for reburishment until some time in May.

Splash Mountain/Rockin Roller Coaster

I was just at WDW over the Christmas season and nothing was mentioned about upgrading these rides and both were in operation. From what I have read in those "planning" type books, January - February are typically general maintenance months. Up until President's week, it is considered value season on the price schedule so the crowds are usually lighter and probably a good time to do some "housekeeping" in the parks.

I was wondering when Space Mountain at WDW was due for a similar upgrade like its counter part in DL. Any info on that one?

hmm strange..when I was there over new years they were both closed. It was even printed on the times guide that Rock N roller coaster was closed for refurbishment. I leave tomorrow for a weekend trip so hopefully theyll be up and running :)

I found a lil' info at wdwmagic.com..sounds like it was just changes to the line w/the rock n roller coaster...and im not sure what they did with splash moutain.

22 January 2007: Rock n Roller Coaster reopens after refurbishment

Rock n Roller Coaster reopened to day after its refurbishment closure. Whilst no significant changes are yet visible to guests, work has been ongoing to put into place a new queue system, featuring a new single rider option. As well as the new single rider option, the existing Fastpass line will be separated from the standby line. A second rotunda area will be built to handle the new queues.

Work will continue on the new queues whilst the coaster remains open over the next month or so, but it seems that there will be another period of closure to complete the project, after which time the new queue will be open to guests.

Splash Mountain is currently under refurbishment until January 27th 2007.

Well, I go to WDW all the time. Like, every other weekend. I've never seen anything being redone in Splan Mountain. In face, I rode it today and there was nothing new or different at all.

Also, I totally agree that Space Mountain need a few upgrades. It's funny that you mention that because that's exactly what I was thinking today while I was in line in it.

*Recovers from Fainting*

Don't scare me like that seven weeks before my trip! And Disney - If you must close anything for a refurb, please wait until May 6th. I'll be gone by then. Thanks.
