Disney Classics DVD/video covers
With all the different covers floating around for Disney DVDs and videos, and some people hating the new 'big head' covers, I wondered if we could start a thread with all the different DVD/video covers for all the Disney Classics?? I thought it would be interesting to post all the different versions, and see what the favourite was? I'll start with Snow White as soon as I get home. If anyone else want to post covers, feel free!

Alice in Wonderland's home video history...
1992 Laserdisc (same artwork as the VHS from that era)

1995 Standard Laserdisc (same artwork as the VHS from that era)

1995 Archive Collection Laserdisc (Which the Masterpiece Edition's supplements are mostly from)

1999 UK DVD

2000 Gold Classics Collection DVD (re-used from 1999 VHS re-release)

2004 Masterpiece Edition DVD

My favorite is definitely the Masterpiece Edition DVD. It doesn't restrict itself to one scene, and I think the color scheme better reflects Wonderland than the others do. The old UK DVD would come in a very close second; I love having so much of the cast present on the cover.

Ok, here are the covers that I could find for Snow White, and sorry if I get some of the details wrong!:
Platinum Edition -

Video Release in the UK -

Another video release very simmilar to the one before -

The Special Edition DVD (UK only?) -

Those were all I could find, but I'm sure that there are more. Not sure what my favourite one is though. Might say the Platinum, but its very dull; it should have more life!

Very interesting subject. I love the French Pocahontas cover so much that I am considering buying it when I go to the Disney Store in Paris... even if I own the Region 1 DVD (and even if my DVD player does not play Region 2!). Of course Pocahontas is one of my top 1 movies (BatB and Poca are tied...) so I guess I'm allowed to be a bit excessive with it

Notice the "Ladybird" logo. That is the cover of a book, and I've seen many others like it for other book of other films.ChrisS wrote:
And I personally LOVE the Gold Collection Alice!
You know, I was thinking it would be nice to keep this all in order, but that would be impossible because people would always find new covers inbetween, and also, if we were to keep this up, future movies would comlicate things! So...eh. Maybe I'll do Cinderella when we've gotten to that, after we've done Pinocchio, Bambi, Dumbo, Fantasia...
If we want to keep track of all the animated classics, and the proper order: Animated Classics

This is a very good resource for all sorts of Disney images. There is a gallery for every film, including both theatrical and direct to video releases. Unfortunately it is hard to tell whether some of them are designs for DVD covers or simply promotional images.
The classics are listed chronologically in the left-hand column.
