I can never figure out why movies take so long to come out in other countries.

I don't know this for a fact. But I've always thought that distribution companies shipped the prints from the US to the UK and other countries as a way of keeping the cost of film prints to a minimum.

They also need to translate it. Hiring the people that do the voices usually happens after the release in the USA.

Poor little Australia left off the list again...

I'm really looking forward to this one.

I guess if New Zealand is getting it in June, we will more than likely get it around then. Especially given that there are school holidays around that time of year...

Bring on the cows I say!

Well they do need to dub the film into the language of the country that it's being released in. It takes awhile to hire actors to do a decent dub. I'm not sure if I want to see Home on the Range. Roseanne irritates me.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Still doesn't explain why it takes months to release it in Australia, and even longer in the UK. We do speak English down here (and strangely enough in England), but probably not the same kind as the Americans :P

I do remember something about prints being recycled, because they an only afford to make so many. That is why some of the prints we get in Australia/UK look a little dirty, because they have already been through the projector a few times in the US...

It comes out 2nd of April 2004 in the United States but I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.
It doesn't look so promising and entertaining like other Disney's films do.
It won't be a hit in the box office but it will do better then Teacher Pet: The Movie.

I just love that title. :P
It really is my new favourite expression (along with "Hello, Dave!").

I would be willing to wait the extra few months JUST to see the movie with that title. You'll have to let me know when it is out on DVD in Brazil so I can get the Brazilian DVD. Do you know of any good Brazilian DVD retail websites, Joe (or anyone else)?

Are you really serious about this, Loomis? It is a great title indeed!
Well, there are various sites where you can buy DVDs... www.submarino.com.br , www.dvdworld.com.br, www.cdpoint.com.br
Well, you may want to know that the title on the DVD will be in Portuguese! :P

Home on the Range...Disney's last

Post by Poppins#1 »

In case anybody is interested, I've heard that "Home on the Range" is to be Disney's last traditionally animated (2-D) feature film. After they finished this one they closed up the animation studio. All future Disney animated films will be cgi.
As terrific as the Pixar movies are, it seems a shame that there's not room for traditional animation too.

The JimHillmedia.com site says the directors of Aladdin & Little Mermaid left Disney... still rumoured but if it's true then this is the day Disney animation died... this is just sad.... after HOTR im boycotting Disney, ive had it with them.. I'll still buy the classics on dvd though

In Sweden, Home on the Range will premiere on October 22nd.

We have a fairly well established tradition that new Disney-movies should always be premiering in late autumn for the Christmas season. So films that come out in the spring or summer in the US are frequently put on hold.

Yes, very serious! Thanks for that!
I know the title will be in Portuguese, but just so I can point to it and say "Hey, you know what that means? It means 'Not even if the cow coughs...'.
I'll have to keep an eye out, or you'll have to let me know when it comes out on DVD there, please.
Thanks again. :)
