I heard on another site that the title of Mulan II is to be a pun of the movie I loved-to-death, Muolin Rouge. Like Mulan Ruuj or something. The Ruuj part is supposed to be like, Mulan's daughter.
"Triton's daughter will be mine! And then I'll make him writhe. I'll see him wriggle like a worm on a hook!"*Cackles insanely*

I read at Animated-movies.com (which is no longer up) when news of Mulan II first came out, that the story writers of Mulan actually had enough material for THREE movies, making a Mulan trilogy! (I hate to burst ur bubble, JayDisney) It sounds very exciting and it makes sense that Mulan is getting a sequel.
I'm glad that it's coming this fall and so far I've read good things about it (
p.s. Will the Mulan II preview be on the Alice in Wonderland DVD by any chance?

Well there are some clips from the first and a lot of talk about how the first one was a classic and such... then it introduces the new sequel... u see Shang proposing to Mulan, in the distance, and you see her except, and then the emporer has a new assignmet for them, and tells them, in order to acheive their task they need to work together, some thing about the rain and the sun.... and he puts a half of a yin yang around each of their necks, and tells them they must escort 3 princesses to this place, where they will marry the three sons of some guy, and Mulan is against the idea of an arranged marraige but one of the princesses tells her it is an honor to serve the emporer, and that's pretty much it, there is some more narroration, but you will see it come febuary 10....KinOO wrote:what's exactely in the preview on the lion king 1/2 dvd?
Can you describe it please?
I have no idea if the preview will be on the Alice in Wonderland disc or not, but since it was the only preview included on the demo tape, I would think not, but I don't know for sure....
Also I heard preduction on Mulan III began before Mulan II had been completely written!!!
Defy Gravity
As far as I know, Mulan II and III were made back-to-back. Just like Lord of the Rings
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

IMO Mushu had killed the film with his anachronistic attitude well before Mulan ran away from home, along with Mulan's failure in the arranged marriage plan.Joe Carioca wrote:The end is comming!! Poor Mulan. Poor Florida people.
I bet when (and if--a big IF) Mulan II comes to China, all the people over there will protest Disney's bastardization of the Mulan legend.
I've seen 40-year-old productions of Mulan that were far better than what Disney had to offer.

And so the Emperor cuts off her head for being a dangerous radical fomenting treason against the Chinese social order.
Roll Credits. Cue "Jump 5" collaboration with Stevie Wonder.
Wow, hilarious - and chillingly accurate. At least the "Jump 5" part.
But damn, getting back to the depressing reality - I'm not sure I can handle the idea of one Mulan sequel, let alone two. But at least it's Mulan. A modern, fairly light feature in the first place... it's the day they release a CG Bambi or Dumbo cheapquel that I will weep...
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

I believe that the Disney rule on this is that magical characters are allowed to reference modern day things. Other regular characters stay in the time and place they are set in, but the magical characters are allowed to reference modern day things. This has been done with the Merlin character in The Sword in the Stone and the Genie in Aladdin.Leonia wrote:

I can't believe people are actually looking forward to this... Now I know what David Stainton meant when he said that people couldnt really tell the difference between the DTV's and the Feature animated films anyway... this is so sad...
Of course I know there are people who diagree with me...but think about it, wouldnt you prefer to see Disney make a new sepctacular 2d musical fairytale instead of sequel after sequel after sequel...
....my nightmare continues... I hope Roy "saves Disney"soon
