I think Zira's death in LK2 was somewhat sad. Of course being the major villain fan that I am, I hate seeing them die...even if it is one that I haven't really cared for. The Evil Queen's death scene never really scared me the first time I saw Snow White, because I never saw it, I freaked out when she turned into the Old Hag (I was 4 and in a dark theater) and I wouldn't go back in to finish
So after that her death didn't bother me, I don't think it's the entire scene that scares me, just certain parts of it, like Ursula's skeleton, the Evil Queen's scream. If anything creeped me out, it would be seeing Ratigan all crazy in Great Mouse Detective, and the villain from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, he was kinda creepy too.

Now that you've mentioned Who Framed Roger Rabbit, I'll add that I always found the means by which the weasels died to be seriously disturbing. They (with one exception) literally laughed themselves to death. I was only about 7 or 8 when I first saw the film, and for a while it managed to instil the notion in me that laughing too much could have fatal consquences. To be honest, I feel far worse for the poor mirthless weasel who Valiant hurled into the vat - at least the others got to continue their existence as spirits, whereas we never heard a peep out of him again, poor thing.Chernabog_Rocks wrote: ... and the villain from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, he was kinda creepy too.

I cried! I loved Zira upon first view. X-P So yes, I cried and the other kids watching made fun of me. Oh, fun times.Chernabog_Rocks wrote:I think Zira's death in LK2 was somewhat sad.
Anyway, the Horned King's death is the most disturbing to children, in my opinion. The older I get, the more it seems deaths like Clayton's were disturbing. As aforementioned, it was his own fault.
Little kids don't think like that when it comes to the bad guys. (Thus accounting for a lack of Zira sympathetics?) Little kids are creeped out by gruesome special effects.
When I saw Aladdin in the theater, I thought the final battle in the movie was the creepiest thing ever. I have no idea why I thought that now! It seems so light and fluffy these days. Jafar didn't die, but I felt like mentioning that. Heh.

That's hot.

How about the bad guys in Oliver and Company? They certainly met with grissly demises. I remember seeing the film when it first came out at the age of 4, and I never forgot the look on Syke's face before his car collided with that incoming train (the collision itself occurred offscreen, but the animators still treated us to some rather nasty looking wreckage...the train itself seemed completely unfazed though). By contrast, between that and my next viewing at age 13, I seemed to have repressed exactly how Roscoe and Desoto perished...when Roscoe slipped down onto the subway tracks and got sizzled, it caused me to flinch a little.

For some reason I can't remember the death scene, then again I was in 3rd grade and the only thing I remember is my 3rd grade teacher running out of the theatre bawling during the scene when Clayton raids the gorillas. I'll have to watch the movie again to remember.
Anyways, I vote for the Queen's death in Snow White...then again, she just creeps me out in general.

To me, Queen Grimhilde's is the most disturbing because of her scream. If the original ending for The Little Mermaid had been used (the one where Ursula attempts to drown Eric and then he stabs her with the Trident; the scream was scary), I might've found it more terrifying than I did.
I love the Queen's scream as she falls off the cliff. It's IMO the best cinematic scream ever. Maleficent had the same scream when Philip stab her with the sword but it was shorter.

The deaths in Disney movies have never really frightened or disturbed me, other than the death of Bambi's mother, but she wasn't a villan. Villans have scared the crap out of me. Well I guess only one has, and she was the reason I didn't see Sleeping Beauty in it's entirety till only a few years ago.
I've yet to see Tarzan, for some reason I keep putting it off, but I'm very tempted to make it my next purcahse just to see that death.

no death in a disney movie has ever disturbed/frightened me but one villain death did frighten me and it was the Nightmare King's death from Little Nemo in Slumberland.
let me make a list of deaths for the canon films.
Queen: fell off cliff, boulder fell on her, vultures eat her remains.
Maleficent: sword stabbed into heart and fell off cliff.
Horned King: at the cauldron and haveing his skin and everything ripped off by it
.
Professor Ratigan: gone berserk and fell off Big Ben.
Ursula: stabbed in stomach by a ship and hit with lightning. that must have hurt.
Gaston: tried to stab Beast but slipped and fell into the canyon.
Jafar: lamp pushed into lava and he electrocutes and blows up.
Scar: pushed off Pride Rock and eaten by the hyenas
then burned to a crisp.
Frollo: fell off Notre Dame into fire.
Shan-Yu: hit with a rocket that exploded when it hit the rocket tower.
Clayton: got caught in vines, cuts them but accidently cuts a wrong vine and HANGS HIMSELF
.
Rourke: turned into crystal and blew up
.
Judge Doom: turned out to be a toon and got hit with a full blast of dip.
Captain Barbosa: shot by Jack Sparrow.
Oogie Boogie: a thread got pulled and his bugs killed.
Ansem: the light of Kingdom Hearts kills him.
Zemnas: got defeated by Sora and Riku.
note i only did the ones that are defiantly dead.

Well, I grew up with a morbid fear of trains, so it's only natural that Sykes and his dobermans' demise would make me feel a little uneasy.Prudence wrote:That never seemed gruesome to me. Georgette's shock at the end of it all distracted me, heh.
If we're allowed to go into Pixar films too (and I see no reason why we shouldn't, given that Roger Rabbit has been cited) I also remember being ever-so-slightly unnerved by what became of Hopper in a A Bug's Life. As deaths go, it seemed like a fairly clean and efficient one. I doubt that the poor bug suffered long. Nonetheless, for those final few moments of life he just seemed so little and helpless, and his screams of protest really soured me...so much so that I couldn't really enjoy the concluding chapter of the film, I had that so heavily on my mind.

Yeah, I'd heard that. Shame they didn't go with it; it would have been a heck of a lot more interesting.Super Aurora wrote:About Zira's death, You'll be surprised that originally, She commited suicided.

I think they took the suicide part out of Zira's death because of the kids watching, it might not go over well with parents if the villain commits suicide. Don't worry Prudence I was sad at Zira's death as well, she was so consumed with hate that she couldn't even accept help when it meant saving her life.
