Saw Mulan II preview....

Post by Prince Phillip »

The Mulan II preview was before the Lion King 1 1/2... It looks good :)

The quality of animation seems to be almost as good as the original, and the story seems like it will be interesting.... can't wait for next fall!!!!! For that among other things!  :P

I think I need to take over your identity for a while, PP, just so I can get all this cool stuff.

I'm in two minds about the Mulan sequel. Mulan was not a film I liked immediately, but I think that had more to do with the people that I saw the film with (in fact, I won a 4-person pass to go and see a preview here, and could only find 2 other people at the time who were willing to go!). However, I've grown to love this film and regret not buying the DVD on its initial release.

Although most Disney films feel "complete", some lend themselves to sequels more than others. Tarzan, for example, has a long literary tradition of sequels, and the Black Cauldron was also part of a series. Winnie the Pooh has many adventures etc. The Rescuers or Great Mouse Detective have the perfect set-up for further isolated tales...

...Mulan doesn't feel that way to me. It was the hero's arc simple and clear.

I'm not opposed to sequels per se (as I said above, some movies lend themeselves to it). I just don't think Mulan is one of those films.

*sigh*

Does every story need a sequel?*cough*CinderellaII*cough*

I don't recall the original story (as in the epic poem, not Disney's) needing a sequel...

Where are you all seeing Lion King 1 1/2? Doesn't come out until February 10.

And as for Mulan II -- it's just another in a long string of unnessescary cheapquels that exsist solely to allow Disney a quick buck. I'm skipping. It doesn't need to exsist, the first one was perfect, and it looses Eddie Murphey. I see no reason to see it, ESPECIALLY since it will likely tarnish WDFA-FL's amazing debut picture.

If Eddie Murphey isn't in it as the voice of Mushu I will not like it actually. He was so funny in Mulan. I hope this is a whorthy sequel!

The only person who has seen it was Prince Philip, he got it from the Disney Store where he works.

I have just read on another forum that the voice of Mushu will be voiced by Mark Moseley. He did the singing voice of the donkey in Shrek and you couldn't tell that it wasn't Eddie Murphy! They say that he can do a very good impression of Eddie Murphy! As long as he's as funny as Eddie it's allright :)

I believe Mark Moseley voices Mushu on House of Mouse.

A film magazine in the UK last week stated that Disney UK haven't decided when or how to release Mulan II over here. It may get a cinema release first!
