And oddly, it came nine years before the movie ever hit the screen. :P

Here I was getting all excited by the prospect of the animated series coming to DVD, but it turns out it is the 1975 show of the same name...

I think if this had truly inspired the films, would Bill Murray have been upsatged by a gorilla?

Disneyboy - you may want to mention in the title thread that this is Ghost Busters (1975)!

Don't worry Loomis, I thought it was the Animated Series as well :( Oh well, I'll just have to keep watching the tape I have of it, there have been some releases of the animated one, but it's just random episodes  On a sidenote, I've never cared too much about the movies, since it seems like everything has to revolve around Bill Murray

Sorry about that Loomis and Chernabog_Rocks.. I have updated the original post.... Actually the Cartoon series is on DVD the ones with Slimer being the ghost pet as I always saw him.... They are just on Single DVD Volumes.. But hey perhaps they will get season sets someday I mean the Orginal Ninja Turtles are now getting Season sets starting with Season 5.... So Perhaps The Real Ghostbusters animated series might come to DVD..

Also does anyone remember when they tried to revive the Ghostbuster's with a differ series with the same characters such as Slimer only thing it was differ animation than the original cartoon... I just did some research and it was Called

The Extreme GhostBuster's Does anyone remember them???

My Uncle has the Extreme Ghostbusters on tape somewhere I think, if I remember correctly Egon was still there to make sure things went smoothly, plus to provide a familiar face. There was a short-lived Slimer series I think it was called Adventures of Slimer and The Ghostbusters?? Well something along those lines. Other than that Slimer appeared in Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue along with Winnie The Pooh, The Ninja Turtles and other various characters. Hopefully these companies will realize that Random Episode DVD's SUCK
