I think that Rescuers down under was better than the original. I was just at best buy yesterday and they still had a copy for $19.99, you may want to check there if you have a local best buy.JaYDiSNeY wrote:this movie deserves more credit than it got...its wonderful...i wish they would put out a special edition

Dammit, why do you people keep asking me such difficult questions? I don't suppose the answer would be on the <a href=http://www.ultimatedisney.com/ultimateclassics.htm target=blank>animated classics list</a> linked at the top of this very forum?

I didn't like Down Under much. It was a terrible sequel to the first one. I'm not being biased either because I just recently saw the first and second one. The first one was indeed a masterpiece and I do hope they release a special edition with two DVD's, but the 2nd one doesn't deserve any better than what Disney has already given it. Here's hoping that Disney doesn't ruin their Collector's/Special Edition line by including such a poor movie in that elite group. If they do, they will be just lowering their standard, and making everything else in that group so much less special.
Slash, every film is somebody's favourite!
I think all Disney animated films (and perhaps most of their live action films) should get the 2 disc treatment. It won't make the other 2 disc releases "less special" - the content of these won't change.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

The Rescuers Down Under was one of the first Disney animated movies I saw.
It's one of the promising sequeals and one of the sequels that was in the theatre(besides Jungle Book 2 and Peter Pan 2).
It's not that popular because Home Alone came out at the same time and killed it at the Box Office.

I disagree. All Disney classics are special, but they are not all equal. While giving everything the 2 disc treatment won't lower the quality of the Platinum and Masterpiece releases, it will definately make them "less special". All Disney Classics are not made equal. The movies in the Disney Platinum and Masterpiece releases are the definition of Disney Magic. They deserve a special treatment unparalleled with any other release. If Disney starts treating all their classics as equals, they will either be giving praise where it doesn't belong (<cough> Down Under <cough>) or they will be berating their ultimate achievements.

Its okay that you disagree, but its all a matter of opinion. Sure some of the Animated Classics are better than others, but in whose eyes? Some people loved, for example, Rescuers Down Under. Some may hate it. I would like to see a 2 disc set for each of the Animated Classics, so as to chronicle the history of each production and how one may have led to another. Its always cool to see how they made the films, to hear stories from the creators and to see lost footage. I think that a nice 2 disc of each film would not only be able to help put each film into its own historical perspective, but may actually increase the appreciation for each film.slash wrote:"I think all Disney animated films (and perhaps most of their live action films) should get the 2 disc treatment.
