I just got done watching it as well, and i must agree that it is everything that i had heard it should be. i'm very impressed! Great job disney!!!!

Something a really loved about it is that it really doesn't make Cinderella II seem like it never happened, there are a few instances where they make a referance to it and i liked that a lot. Other than that the story is great, the animation is great, and even though the music really is a little weak i still enjoyed that a lot as well.

One more thing, in my copy it doesn't mention the Aristocats Special Edition at all. Maybe they did take all the advertisements for it out, or maybe it's because i got my copy at Wal-mart...

I also got my copy at Wal Mart and it was missing the Aristocats promo. I'm hoping to watch the movie after class.

I just watched it- I looooooove it! So great! And, I'm in love with the song during the credits by Hayden Panettiere ("I Still Believe").

My copy, from Best Buy, has the ad about "The Aristocats" stapled with the rest of the ads.

I just got done watching the movie as well and I REALLY LOVE IT!
The songs were ok, it reminded me of Cinderella II a bit but it was nice to see a Disney Princess sing again. Even though her voice wasn't that strong and the songs could have been longer, it was really charming. :)

I LOVVEEEE the song I Still Believe. Hayden Panettiere did a GREAT job with that song. I hope Disney releases all these songs which I doubt lol. However, I still believe might be released down the line. 8)

Overall I give the movie a four out of five. :D

Oh yeah, and I also got my copy at Target. It also came with a free light up Collectible Cinderella III pin which was awesome. And I also got The Aristocats Advertising as well. 8)

I just finished watching this and was pretty impressed. I'm debating whether or not this is my favorite DTV sequel. Even if it's not, it still comes in a worthy second place (after Pooh's Grand Adventure). Here are some pros and cons.

Pros:

* The animation was very fluid and almost theatrical-quality. The subtleties in Cinderella's expressions were what really impressed me, especially when she smiled. The backgrounds were also amazing (the inside of the palace church was gorgeous).

* They managed to make Anastasia a good character without betraying her. Despite her want for true love, she was still a brat, so I was happy they they didn't turn her around 100%.

* The score was surprisingly good. It really gave the film atmosphere, especially in the climax. I was happy that they started with an instrumental reprise of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes." I just kinda wish they had implemented more themes into the score (like "So This is Love" and "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo").

* They handled the time reversal concept much better than I thought they would. It seems to me that this film takes place in between the original and the second, and with that in mind, Anastasia's desperate need for love makes more sense. Also, you can take the "we just got back from our honeymoon!" comments in the second one to mean they got back from the honeymoon after the re-wedding.

* I was worried about the filmmakers making Cinderella so active that they forget her original humble personality. Thanks goodness they didn't. She was definitely herself in this (except for one scene that I'll note in the con section). They balanced her original warmth and integrity and her new determination very nicely.

* Gasp! Prince Charming has a personality! I definitely appreciated the little quirky comments they gave him, as well as the extra daring-do.

* The carriage ride was freaking sweet. Funnily enough, I always wondered what the escape-from-the-ball chase from the original would've been like had the carriage driven through forests and mountains instead of smooth village roads. Now my curiosity is satisfied.

* I love love love the fact that they used the same type of font for the end credits that was used for the original's opening credits.

Cons:

* I thought there was a little too much slapstick in the film. I realize a fair percentage of the original is basically Tom and Jerry-type segments, but they took it further in this one, especially with the King and Duke.

* The songs were either blah or cringe-worthy. The opening song totally did not match the lovely visuals, and anything with Anastasia made me want to fast forward. Cinderella's new song and the mice's "At the Ball" were both easy to swallow, but forgettable.

* Why didn't the King or Duke realize first hand that Anastasia wasn't the girl at the ball? I realize they never got the best of looks at Cindy, but surely Anastasia's dreadful dancing must've tipped them off? Besides, the Duke got a fairly decent look at Cindy's face, anyhow.

* I mentioned in the pros how they nailed Cinderella's personality...except for one scene. The scene I'm referring to is when she meets up with the Prince at the flower hall. For some reason she becomes all giggly and ditzy here. I realize love makes fools of us all, but she seemed to be temporarily channeling Snow White in this bit, and it was bizarre.

* SPOILERS: The climax was excellent, but I thought it got anti-climactic at the very end. When Tremaine started that huge spiral in the church, and the Prince brought out his sword, I was expecting some sort of beast to come out rather than a quick comeuppance for Tremaine and Drizella. And apparently Tremaine intended on turning into Cinderella and Anastasia into toads? That's...kinda lame. You'd think someone like her would attempt to kill Cindy after the big carriage incident. I won't get into the fact that they stole the comeuppance from Ella Enchanted.

* This is more of a minor quibble than a con, but I missed Bruno and Major. A lot.

All in all, a very well-made film despite any shortcomings I may have with it. I'd give it ***1/2 out of four.

That sucks that there is no appearance by Bruno and Major. Even number 2 had a cameo with Bruno.

Disneykid, you might want to edit your post and put a Spoiler Alert earlier in your thread (for people who haven't seen it yet, they don't know about a lot of what you wrote about). I'm not a moderator, but, if I hadn't already seen it, I might have been bummed to read some of that...

And, I've been playing "I Still Believe" all afternoon. My new favorite song. Wow, it's so good. In the review, it says it's nothing special, but it's so special.

I loved it as well everyone! It was really really good. Probably my second fav. DTV sequal! (below bambi 2 of course). But yea it was really well done except I thought the stepsisters sung to good when they would sing. and did they explain how lucifer survived in number 2 or something? cuz he feel out of the tower in the first one and I want to know how he survived. I also liked the songs over all much better than some iv herd recently. and I got the Aristocrats ad as well :)

I liked the movie. I didn't think it was as spectacular as everyone else seems to. I wouldn't go as far as to say "I love it," but I was impressed. The animation was much better than other DTV's and the voices were pretty decent. There were some major plot holes that took me out of the story. The biggest one was that the King's character isn't as loony as he was in the first film, which is why he was one of my favorite characters, and I don't get why he was arguing that his son would marry a girl "based on her choice in transparent footwear" when all he wanted in the first film was for his son to marry asap. I also thought Drizella's voice sounded out of place, but I really liked Lady Tremaine throughout the film. She was a good solid villain like in the original.

Now on to the preview for "Disney Princess Enchanted Tales." I hope I don't get a lot of flak for saying this, but I hate what they showed. The main reason is Aurora's singing voice. Aurora has such a beautiful, operatic, classically trained voice and the girl who is singing in the preview is airy. She holds notes with no vibrato and it not only doesn't sound like Aurora, it sounds bad. It sounds like a Disney Channel star who is trying to have a singing career, not a Disney Princess. The animation appears to have been made on a much cheaper budget than "Cinderella III" and I would even suspect them of using the same techniques to make it that they do for Playhouse Disney 2-D cartoons. Areas that I feel they have done well in are the backgrounds. They have done a good job of keeping the style of the original film and I thought the voices of the three fairies were pretty well casted, so I'm not trying to completely bash the film based on the preview, but I really hope they re-dub Aurora's voice and that maybe this animation wasn't rendered and processed as much as it needs to be before the official release.

Oh, I totally agree. That sneak peek was very disappointing. The animation was rather stilted, and I was flabbergasted at just how off Aurora's voice was, both speaking and singing. Her voice was far too high-pitched, and her singing voice should be operatic, not pop-ish. Supposedly Jennifer Hale is the regular voice for Aurora, but that can't possibly be her in this segment because I've heard her Aurora voice in various merchandise and it's very good (she's actually a better Aurora than Cinderella, in my opinion). Was she too busy with Cinderella III to do this? On a positive note, the backgrounds were great and very evocative of the original film. The three good fairies were also pretty good. I guess animation-wise, we're being too hard because this isn't a full-out feature; it's more like a DVD show that teaches kids morals. So, compared to TV animation, this is very good. I just wish DisneyToon Studios could've been kept open for this series, though. Where is this animation being done, at, anyway?

Wow...I mean...wow...

Cinderella 3 has got to be the most craziest and weirdest Disney sequel ever made!!! Anyone agree?

I mean there's a lot to easily tear at this film yet at the same time, I was able to watch it and not be so bothered at how ridiculous everything in the movie got as the story progressed. There are alot of hilarious moments that seem more fit for a TV cartoon than a Disney animated feature film but it didnt really bother me. The only thing that started to annoy me from the start was the songs. They offered nothing new. I can watch Beauty & the Beast or any Broadway production and here the same stuff that was sung in this film (words & all). All & all I took this film as a Lion King 1 1/2. After all Cinderella was the narrator. Maybe the writers were stoned or something cuz I never expected a Disney princess movie to be that crazy and over the top.

I also watched the new preview for Disney Princess Enchanted Tales. I stopped watching halfway. I had high hopes for this DVD but the preview spoilers have declared that this will suck. The story is terrible and offers nothing for anyone who is not a preschool age girl...

...and theyre gonna have Aurora and Cinderella voiced by the same person...as if we cant tell the difference!!!

I'm basically in complete agreement with what DisneyKid said. My younger sister (and complete opposite at times) loves slapstick, so she laughed through the whole movie.

Including the parts that weren't funny.

I'm so psyched to watch it! I got it at Target a couple hours ago, and I got the last one they had! It has the free pin inside and everything (which looks really nice, too). Plus, it only cost me 13.99, because I got a 3 dollar off coupon for it in the mail today! Thank goodness I checked the mail before buying it! Going to watch it in a few minutes!

My understanding is, except for Little Mermaid (Jodi Benson) and Aladdin (Linda Larkin), the big 3 princess voices (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora) are all done by Jennifer Hale for all Princess related items for the last 5- 10 years (toys, games, DVD's etc.).

The Disney Dollhouse material was animated by hand in Canada by Bardel Animation, which has done other sequels and contract work for a number of major companies. They do digital as well as hand drawn these days, and are one of the larger studios in Canada.

As for the princess sequels, it __may__ be the animation is not finished for the shows. This happens often for live action film previews put out months ahead of a production (these often have temporary effects footage that will be cleaned up/replaced by film's release).

I'm finishing watching it right now. It certainly grabs your interest at times with a LOT of suspense.

how did you get a coupon slave2moonlight? You must be signed up or something for disney related stuff?

I got it for $16.99 and the free pin was packaged with the DVD.

I think I'll hold off buying a copy for my niece who is Cinderella crazy - I'll let her watch my copy and see what she thinks.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
