Hooked Bear is available on Walt Disney Treasures - Disney Rarities it will likely be a couple of years before we see Grin and Bear it in the form of a Treasure or Legacy Series release as it will be part of the last Volume of Donald cartoons.

I'm pretty sure it's "Hooked Bear" as that actually involves Humphrey, a lake, and fishing. Also, the description of the short from Disney Shorts as well as the UD review help support it.QueenRahel wrote:does anyone know which one it is though??? anyone recognize the rainbow trout in a trough??? and lots of boats crammed in a lake too i think???its driving me nuts!

Yes, it is "Hooked Bear." It features a scene where Ranger Woodlore is stocking the lake. When he throws a bucket of rainbow trout into the lake, they form a rainbow as they arc into the water. I have a screenshot from the scene on my site here : http://disneyshorts.org/years/1956/hookedbear.htmlEscapay wrote:I'm pretty sure it's "Hooked Bear" as that actually involves Humphrey, a lake, and fishing. Ok, I saw this short years ago. I'm dying to see it again and maybe find it on dvd someday. It's two orphan's a boy and girl. I think they're collecting fire wood and then they go home to eat. They split a piece of bread and then when they fisnish it, they're still starving and they're mother starts to cry. When they were collecting fire wood a butcher, ice cream man and a candy shopman ( i think) were gonna give them some of they're goods. But then they're gone. I think they fall asleep and dream that they're in a cany land, they go on a chocolate horse carousel. Then when they wake up they find them selves in piles of food and treats, which are gifts from the three shop owners. That's about all I remember. I wanna see this short so bad. Hope someone can help.

Ok, I had it on vhs a long time ago. I probably still have it in my possesion, but have no clue where it could be. It came in one of those vhs that includes other random shorts. I honestly have no clue what era, I'm assuming 1930-1940. It's such a heart warming short, it's such a shame nobody here knows the title. There was alos another short in there that I really liked. It was of these two just married flies that go to a hotel, the owner's a conniving spider who secretly wants to eat them. It's a nice short. There was also a little lulu one where she wants to get on a train, but her ticket was expired. There's a scene where she disguises herself as a black face character.
Back to the Orpahn short. The characters are a boy and a girl, their mother and three shop owners. Hope this helps ( which i doubt).
