Your thoughts on: LADY AND THE TRAMP Platinum Edition!

I may be a little late, but I liked the restoration work done on this dvd. I do agree that it was light on features, but I really think that it's the movie that really matters.

Yeah, what's eleven months anyway?

Initially, I was a bit disappointed in the LATT bonus features, and overall DVD presentation. I mean, even the booklet isn't up to par with any other Platinum Release. But the features are much better than TLM's, and from the looks of things, only slightly better than Peter Pan's. At least Pan got to keep his commentary, which is pretty much a documentary in itself, only without seeing who's talking, so that's forgiveable.

Still, I had hoped that since the beginning of the two-platinums-a-year schedule, we'd see the serious Platinum in the Spring (as Bambi was terrific, and in hindsight, so is Lady and the Tramp), while the fluffy-marketable-for-the-holidays one came in the fall. But with that disappointing DVD review for Pan, I shudder to think what will happen to The Jungle Book come October.

Anyways, to get back to the LATT bonus features, I haven't watched any of them since last year after I bought the DVD, so they're due for another spin, but looking at the guide, I think I'll just concentrate on the 52 minute doc (52 minutes! And Pan's is the all-too-brief 16-minute one...poo!), and maybe the "Art of the Storyboard" featurette. I've never been a fan of watching deleted scenes (they're interesting, and provide an alternate look to the film, but I find it a waste half the time), so I'll most likely skip the two that are on the disc.
