I am shocked about this news!! Wow.

I think it may be too good to be true, though. I just find it curious there's been NO mention of this *ANYWHERE* at all -- not even from Disney themselves. It was apparantly an insert on the Cinderella 3 DVD, which comes out in a week, but not even the website it has on the insert is working yet. If this is true, I bet at least it will be downgraded to a 1-disc edition like Tarzan.

Even though this news makes me more than happy, it also makes me FURIOUS that they didn't do this treatment for Fox and the Hound and Robin Hood. Also, if they choose to release this instead of honoring Hercules 10th Anniversary, I will be super super angry.

But if this is true, though, I'll be FIRST in line to grab this thing.

I too find it strange that nowhere has it listed yet but as long as this 2-DISC comes, i'll import :D Though the release seems a bit soon so I'm expecting a delay

Now the main page of the UD site has announced that The Aristocats will NOT be coming to DVD on March 27th. I am a little disappointed since I had already gotten myself excited about the situation, but I guess I"m not really surprised. The movie was scheduled to be released in less than 2 months and we still hadn't seen any cover art or really even heard much about it. Ah well, hopefully it will still surface in spring or early summer.

Given lighthousemike's credibility, I doubt that it was a fake. Perhaps the release date just got pushed back?

Im kinda disappointed that its not coming out on that day though I wonder if it will be April of 2007 or May of 2007... although My Pocket for March is very excited about this news.... :P

Also I hope the part about the Aristocats being a 2-disc wasn't a misprint or else this will be the second time they advertised for a 2-disc but instead we end up with a 1 disc... In case of those not keeping track the last one that was advertised as a 2-disc was Tarzan... The newer most recent edition...

Who thinks that it might have been pushed back because someone goofed and put 2-disc intead of The Aristocats: Alley Cat Edition which would be a 1 disc... I hope that's not the reason...

Did I miss something? I just searched the front page and I can't find anything saying that the release date is no longer March 27th.

I hope nothing has changed, I was really looking forward to this release.

OOPS, found it. My cache needed cleaning, the last announcemnet showing up was from Feb 1st.

I don't want to be so down on disney, but i half-way expected something to go wrong with this news. it was way too soon to the release date and way too sudden. The only other instance i can remember where an announcement like this was made and we actually got what they advertised was Pocahontas's 10th Anniversary Edition. I hope it's still a 2-disc special edition when it does finally get released.

Added this update to the original post.

UD's front page reporting this release was pushed back and now is TBA. i wonder if this Tuesday's release of Cinderella III will still have the below ad as it is not just one sheet but a part of the booklet.

-----

If this will not be a 2 disc set i'll be very mad. i love this move

I wouldn't be surprised if they made it a one-disc release now.

So, will the inserts be in the "Cinderella III" cases now? I'm so sad- I even told some friends that "The Aristocats" was coming out on March 27. My bad. Wishful thinking.

I know what happened- a spy for Disney saw which DVD lighthousemike was getting, so they printed that insert just to drive us UD'ers crazy. Yay.

Perhaps Disney got complaints that fans would not be prepared to waste money on a pathetic 2 disc edition with a sensible title and that they should respect their films properly by making it a one disc edition with a name like 'groovin' jazz' edition! ;)

It would be great if a 2-disc Aristocats featured Wonderful World of Color episode The Great Cat Family (even though it has nothing to do with Aristocats, I want it!).

I'm not that suprised about this. A unpopular movie (sorry fans, but as long as it's popular to you, that's all that matters) getting a 2-Discer on March 27th and hardly no news on it. We'll probaly get a one-discer in April or May, though.

The Aristocats

Post by Disney_Fanatic91 »

I just checked Coming soon.net's DVD releases and they do not have a release date for the Arisotcats. They have one for The Jungle Book and Peter Pan of course but not the aristocats. This is particularly sad in my opinion because i was very excited to hear the news of the new release, bcuz i love this movie, but id doesnt look as though it will be released afterall. who knows, disney has been known to suprise us. I hope they suprise ud with a release of the Aristocats afterall this year.

It has already been reported that Aristocats wouldn't come this year (like a million times). I do think we'll get a release in May or April, though.
