Might be a good thing - if the important aspect of the Treasures is a perfect tin...MickeyMousePal wrote:I finally completed my Walt Disney Treasure lineup will the tins too.
It took a long time but it happen this year.
One of my Mickey Mouse in Living Color volume 1 is still in it's original package and is unopen.

I forgot - that's the worst flaw on my tins. The recent ones had some truly evil security stickers. The glue can be done away with, I guess, although I haven't quite managed it yet.Disney Lover wrote:I only have two Treasures from this last wave, and having bought them in a store I can't say they are flawless. mainly cause of the sticky stuff that wouldn't come off from when they were wrapped.
I have all 22 of them currently, and will continue to buy them when the next ones become available. Sometimes I regret being a completist. Anyway, does anyone else wish that Disney would have kept the wraps? It's nice to have them identifiable from the spine when they are stored on the shelf. I'd also have the same request on the Legacy Collection titles.

I have all the tins, bought them all new as they came out, and the tins are perfect enough for me, but not totally perfect. I know there are pressure points at least, and probably SOME dings. Wouldn't be surprised if I've made a few myself, but I don't think they have any dents. As long as they're in presentable shape, I'm more conscerned with the discs. I know a disc or two came with scuffs on them, but they played fine, so I was alright with 'em. They only thing that has annoyed me is that I got one of those Runaway Brains that was out of sync on MMILC vol. 2. However, I do still have a few tins I haven't even had a chance to watch yet, and I don't just mean from the latest wave.
I have mixed feelings about the old, paper binders. They are helpful, and I guess I'd rather have them or not, but it'd be better if the info was printed onto the tin probably, unless they paint comes off over time. I certainly don't care for the loosely glued cards on the back of the tins that they have now. And, I'm sure I've torn (from the inside anyway) a few of the cards/binders (from the inside, thankfully) by trying to take the security tags off of them, which I just leave on now, even though they annoy me.

The bands are useful if they're stored on shelves, I guess. Personally, though, I find the tins take up far too much space on shelves. I keep them seperately, wrapped up in a drawer. I put each tin's band (or the back sheet, after they started being glued instead of printed on) inside the tin.yhtomitb wrote:Anyway, does anyone else wish that Disney would have kept the wraps? As for my collection, still only that 1 very minor ding to report. I've got 17 of the 22 that've come out, as I'm not always a completist and I wasn't at all interested in the ones I don't have (Davy Crockett, Mickey Mouse Club, Spin & Marty, Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox & the Hardy Boys). I suppose if I suddenly became a completist, the only one that would be mildly difficult to get at this point would be Davy Crockett, but I don't think I'll ever be interested.

My one year old grabbed the tin for Spin and Marty last night and smashed it over the head of my four year old. I'd imagine it has a fair sized dent in it now.
I have a complete collection, but I am not sure I have tin without a dent in it, I am not sure if I could even find all the tins, just taking up extra shelf space.

I have a complete set and only one has a pressure point and that is Spin & Marty. I don't really care if they are perfect or not, but I do look at them in the store and buy the best looking ones. I greatly prefer the slip on bannars that let you know what volume it is from the spine. I really wish they had kept doing that.

Pity, your four year old is going to live with that fair sized dent on her head the rest of her life!Mr. Toad wrote:My one year old grabbed the tin for Spin and Marty last night and smashed it over the head of my four year old. I'd imagine it has a fair sized dent in it now.

She's fine. Her head was a lot stronger than the tin.Escapay wrote:Pity, your four year old is going to live with that fair sized dent on her head the rest of her life!Mr. Toad wrote:My one year old grabbed the tin for Spin and Marty last night and smashed it over the head of my four year old. To be honest all of my tins from all but the most recent wave are tucked away in a box somewhere - once Disney abandoned the outer cardboard strip I stopped displaying them on my shelf in their tins. Now I just have the regular DVD cases on the shelf and it's easy to tell what everything is and it's an impressive looking set too!
So in short I don't recall any of the tins having serious dents (just minor dings!) - so yeah I have an almost perfect complete collection!
On a side note I really dislike the packaging for the Legacy collection - the inner round tin is kinda neat but as a whole the packaging is all novelty and no function as there is nothing to identify the discs when they're on a shelf - I may try and design my own Treasures-esque sleeve and put them in new cases at some point!
