House of Mouse

Post by Kram Nebuer »

I know Horace, Clarabell, and Ludwig all appear in House of Mouse television series on the Disney Channel (I think it plays on Toon Disney too). And hopefully, they'll have appearances in Mickey's Three Musketeers! Oh, and if you watch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and the segment: Mickey and Minnie's Gift of the Magi, you'll see Horace in the scene where Mickey is playing harmonica in the park for the firefighters.

And of course, Clarabell and other early characters appear in various Disney Treasures (particualrly the Mickey Mouse B & W set, which is very cool).

I don't remember Julius, but the name rings a bell for some reason.

Yeah - these characters are featured a lot in House Of Mouse...Clarabelle, Von Drake, and Horace are regulars in the series. For the MouseWorks cartoons - Clara Cluck, Von Drake, Phantom Blot, Scrooge McDuck, and Figaro (as Minnie's pet) have made quite a few appearances.

Bill Farmer provides Horace's voice, and the talented Corey Burton is Von Drake's current voice actor.

I think I read somewhere that Clarabelle will have a role in Mickey's Three Musketeers.

The Phantom Blot was never actually animated until an episode of Duck Tales. The Phantom Blot (and his daughter The Phantom Brat) are from the old 1930's and 1940's Mickey Mouse comic strips.

Peter(?) Pig seems to be an old 'toon character needing a reappearance.

Sort of off topic, but when I get home I will hopefully have a pair of Black and White Clarabelle and Horace beanies waiting for me. Sadly, I still cannot locate a Pete beanie locally.

Just remembered other old character guest appearances on House of Mouse:

~The Aracuan (sp?) bird, who had a whole episode
~Gus Goose, Donald's cousin, also appears in House of Mouse as the cook.
~The Forest Ranger Audobon (I think that's his name) and Humphrey the Bear
~Mortimer Mouse

Those are the most I can remember at the moment

In Disney magazine, many people ask the archivist (Dave Smith) about Donald's sister. All we know is that her name is Dumbella and has only "appeared" in a comic book story when she sent Donald a letter to babysit her three sons.
