Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros soundtrack on itunes
Yay! today Disney put out the 1958 record for Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros on itunes today! (it also includes "Blame it on the Samba" from Melody Time)
It's great that Disney is continuing the release of older records on itunes but I only saw this one today. What happened to the second wave that Disney was releasing this month?

They are basically releasing old records from the 50's through the early 90's exclusively through iTunes. You won't find something like the Snow White soundtrack being released because it has had cd releases and is more main stream. Most of the stuff making it's way to iTunes was once available in Disneyland exclusively for purchase on CD. Most of them are obscure titles such as Mary Martin's "Hi-Ho" and Disco Mickey Mouse. They don't do too many actual soundtracks. So far it's basically been "Summer Magic" and now "Saludos Amigos." However, most of the tracks on SA are different versions of the songs from the film and it's spawn, "The Three Caballeros." I'm a bit dissapointed that the song, Three Caballeros, isn't sung by Donald, Pancho, and Jose.

Really? When was it on CD.... I have been trying to find the original soundtrack. Do you know for sure it had been on CD? Also how are you finding out about these offerings on Itunes? If it isn't under soundtracks, how are you searching? Thanks in advance.goofystitch wrote:They are basically releasing old records from the 50's through the early 90's exclusively through iTunes. If you look up "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on amazon, there are several choices, the two I trust most being an import from 2006 you can buy directly through amazon for around $11 and an out-of-print copy from 2001 going for about $6 used.
On another note, I'm really upset that the soundtracks are so different from the movies. I really wanted "Three Caballeros" by Panchito, Donald and Jose, and at this point I'd be better off making an audio grab.

You can find any of these titles by searching for key words. Some of them are featured in the Childrens Music section, but most of them you need to know are available and search for. I hope this has been helpful.
As SpringHeelJack mentioned, the best place to buy soundtracks to Disney films is through amazon.com. It is where I bought my copy of the Snow White Soundtrack, along with many others. Many soundtracks are no longer in print in the U.S., but are available imported from Europe for the reasonable price of $11.00. I'm more psyched over "The Black Hole" being released. I've wanted that score for quite a while now. "Disco Mickey Mouse" was an awesome dose of nostalgia as I had that tape when I was a little kid, and I was stoked to find "The Black Cauldron" (even if it was a lacking soundtrack). Now if I can just get "Splash!", the CD from the TV series of TLM, I'd be happy.

Hi
I think you find the original artists here. The sound quality is perhaps not perfect since they are transferred from old 78 rpm records but quite amusing anyway, listen and enjoy.

Wow, thank you both, for that information! OK so it looks like I will finally be able to buy SW soundtrackSpringHeelJack wrote:If you look up "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on amazon, there are several choices, the two I trust most being an import from 2006 you can buy directly through amazon for around $11 and an out-of-print copy from 2001 going for about $6 used.

Those current choices of soundtracks from disney over at Itunes may just break the bank! Boy oh boy, where to even begin with that list!

Great! If you find anything else please add to this post, I am keeping a list now of these things in a Word Document so I can refer back to it, as my pocketbook allows!Mouseketodd wrote:Some additional titles that came out January 16th on iTunes:

I have all the Disney albums on LP's, cassettes and CD's. But I do love the original Disneyland LP's in my entire collection. I have "Hi-Ho" by Mary Martin (without the cover), "Babes in Toyland" with Tutti Camarata, "Mickey Mouse Disco", "Alice in Wonderland" by Tutti Camarata with Darlene Gillespie nad many of them of vinyl. The one LP that I do have is "Annette's Beach Party". That album is in fair condition, but it has lots of scratches, ouch! I can't play them. I have a turntable, but my needle is still broke, I'll try to find a new needle at a special store. It is hard to find.

I don't think you can purchase anything from the US store unless you have a credit card with a US billing address.Billy Moon wrote:Is there any way to download these albums from iTunes if you're outside of the US?
However, there's a web page where you can enter requests for music not available on iTunes:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
Let's go there, all of us who don't live in the US, and drown them in requests for these albums! Be sure to put a few words in the comment field explaining that you live outside the US, and that you'd like iTunes to make these albums available in your country.
