By the way, lighthousemike. Does "The Aristocats" is still using the same new logo the one that it was used from "Cinderella 3"? I have the VHS Masterpiece Edition, but it does have the original logo and the Buena Vista blue logo was removed from the VHS edition.

It took me about four re-readings to understand that, but now I can answer for Mike: He has no idea if the film will retain its blue Buena Vista logo or carry any of the Walt Disney Pictures logos. Why? Because he doesn't have it, yet. He found an advertisement for The Aristocats in Cinderella III and passed the release info onto us. He doesn't actually own the upcoming SE. If he did, he would've given us a rundown of the bonus material and given us screencaps galore. If Robin Hood and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are any indication, The Aristocats will probably retain its Buena Vista logo and not carry any Walt Disney Pictures one at all. It seems like only the Platinums are attaching WDP logos to their films, and if it's an RKO picture, replacing the RKO logo with a WDP one. I expect this to happen to Peter Pan when we see it in March.

Its my three year old daughter's favorite disney movie - she is a Marie freak. Watched the movie going to and coming back from Disneyland. Better have a better transfer for me to double dip.

I gave my daugter a $50 Disneyland gift certificate for Christmas. She came back with a Marie pin, a Duchess stuffie and a Marie book.

That always seems to be the case with our Pluto-loving Disney LP collector. :D

That's sad. That's a fun bonus feature. I should work for BVHE (that's one of the parts of the company I'm interested in working eventually, anyway)...and then I'll learn why different parts of the world get different editions of movies...

grrr... :x

Thanks for the info, Disneykid. "The Aristocats" did have the blue BV logo for the upcoming DVD release, but the VHS Masterpiece edition did have the WDP old logo instead of the BV one.

I don't think The Aristocats was EVER shown with the Blue Buena Vista logo. I don't know if it even has it. On the 2001? DVD release, it doesn't have it. And I think we ALL know that when Disney released these films back in 2000 - present, they were put with their original Buena Vista logos.

So, does "The Aristocats have a Buena Vista logo? Highly possible. In fact, this new release of The Aristocats coming in March may show the logo! :D

This had better be a good transfer! I had planned on picking up a used copy of the GC Edition this weekend at the mall (some store has it for $15 and I've had my eye on it for a few months), but oh well I guess that's crossed off my 'to-do' list this weekend!

and as a parent of a 3 year old little girl I can say that Aristocats is one of her favorites and Marie is all the rage...

Aristocats Special Edition Discussion

Post by danfrandes »

March is getting close, there isn't a preview for "The Aristocats: Special Edition" "The Aristocats: Special Edition" should've been a 1-disc edition instead of a 2-disc edition and the edition title for it should've been "Groovin' Jazz Edition" or "40th Anniversary Edition".

I didn't know that Disney was releasing The Aristocats on a special 2 Disc DVD set. I haven't seen that movie in forever. That is strange how they don't have a review for it yet. :)

Whoa! You'd rather have a one-disc than a two-disc? And why, why would you want an Amazingly Annoying Name Edition rather than just a Special Edition?
I very much disagree with you...

I wouldnt be surprised if this was changed to a one-disc edition at the last minute. Considering the film wasnt a huge hit like The Lion King or The Little Mermaid, I cant imagine disney finding enough material on this film to place in a two disc. I heard there was some specials on the Aristocats back in the early 70s or something on the Wonderful World of Disney show. I hope those make it on the disc. There's probably gonna be some unrelated Disney short or two that will be on there (I get really annoyed with those) but I am really hoping for some worthwhile special features.
