WD Treasures: The tins

Post by Jeffel »

I live in the UK and so I normally buy only region 2 dvds. However, I was desperate to get hold of Silly Symphonies volume 2 so I ordered a region 1 copy and today it arrived. However, the tin is completely different to the one that came with Silly Symphonies volume 1, which was bought in region 2.

My question is whether the tins are different in each region, or whether I've just bought myself a very impressive fake? Just so you know, SSv1 came in a bulky tin with rounded edges and corners, and had a black holder for the 'regular' sized dvd case within. SSv2 has a more rectangular case, and the dvd case within that is thicker than a regular dvd and worryingly there's no sign of a hologram anyway.

The region 1 tins are different from the region 2 tins. I think both of your Treasures are real.

Also, Region 1 Disney DVDs don't have holograms.

The tins are completely different from the different waves. In R1, The tins from the wave of silly symphonies volume one have the number stamped on them. The back is sort of printed on. There is a band with the title around them. (I think this is all correct, I am going off memory). In R1, the tins from the wave of silly symphonies 2 does not have the number stamped on them, but a card inside with the number. The back is not printed on, it is a card that is barely glued on. It does not have the band.

Actually, the cardboard back wasn't even glued on poorly with my SS2. It wasn't glued on in any way
Ah well, it's the thought that counts ^^

Speaking of the tins, I was at my local best buy the other day and they had a ton of tins, at least 10 different ones including the war one Behind the Lines
Dark Knight Rulez
