Disney DVD questions

Post by ZOOMBOOM0688 »

I have some questions about some DVDs I was thinking of getting...

1. Should I get the The Emperor's New Groove - Ultimate 2 Disc Edition or the regular version?

2.should I get Atlantis - The Lost Empire (Collector's Edition) or the regular version?

3.should I get the Who Framed Roger Rabbit DVD is it a good DVD?

4.What about Dinosaur - Collector's Edition I read some people had problems with it.

THANKS!!! :) :)

1. If you're not a big fan of film, go for the 1-disc. However, if you like the film enough to have a second disc of bonuses on it, I suggest the 2-Disc.

2. Same as above.

3. Personally, I feel the Vista Series 2-Disc Roger Rabbit is a great DVD. Good transfer/sound, and interesting extras. I would recommend it to any fan of the film.

4. I haven't heard of any problems over this title, if you mean technical problems. My advice is the same I gave on the first 2 questions.

Hope you get what you want. :)

1. I've heard that the Ultimate Groove's 2nd disc was full of throwaway fluff. The one disc version isn't too shabby.
2. This one is a little different as I've heard that there's tons of useful stuff regarding the real legend of Atlantis.
3. Awesome DVD. Pick it up ASAP.
4. I think these were just problems regarding the film itself ;)

1. Emperor's New Groove I got on 2 disc and have watched it. It has good stuff. I personally get the 2 disc or the Box Set just to have them.
2. Atlantis, I loved this movie so I got it on 2 disc and it does talk a lot about the legend which i love :P
3. I've never seen it so I don't know. I'm hesitant to get it also.

1. u should get the CE since there is more stuff to do on the DVD unless you only want to watch the movie.

2. u should get the regular one unless u want to learn more about the making of the movie

3. the DVD is cool since it has a lot of special features.

4. same as #2

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a great movie and on the DVD amoung the different special features are the other Roger Rabbit shorts that were made in the late '80's.

I can only give my opinion, but I guess it comes down to what is more important to you - the movie or the features.

If you really only want the movie, and price is an issue (and heaven knows it is for me at the moment), then I would say that you should buy the standard editions of each of them.

However, if you do like swanky SEs, you have chosen 4 of the more impressive Disney releases of recent years. Particulaly Atlantis, Dinosaur and New Groove. All three have too many features to mention, but are about the most comprehensive SEs you can get. As an owner and enjoyer (is that even a word?) of all 4, I can wholeheartedly recommend all of them.

RE: Problems with Dinosaur. I haven't had any, but perhaps you can check some of the larger 'troubleshooting' sites (such as DVDTalk) for common errors?

I can only comment on the three Disney titles since I do not own WFRR.
Those three CE are fantastic, so if you enjoy collections such as those with lots of extras and behind-the-scenes stuff incl storyboards and concepts, you absolutey have to get the CEs.
