the combo isn't the same for all DVD players, and it isn't 0123456Big Disney Fan wrote:Is that the combo used to remove the region coding? What worries me more is that now that the Treasures line may have end, those may be the latest Treasures in other lands...Darn, Donald's my fave character, but Goofy shorts need to be published here!Big Disney Fan wrote:Well, if you were to look at the bad Spanish translation of the article Isidro25 put up, you would notice that two more WDTs are evidently done deals: Pluto 1 and Donald 2.Jeffel wrote:It's time they releases a couple more at least, especially the sequels to the ones already released here.

You're talking about Goofy cartoons, but you know what else needs to be published here? B&W Mickey shorts, that's what!Isidro25 wrote:What worries me more is that now that the Treasures line may have end, those may be the latest Treasures in other lands...Darn, Donald's my fave character, but Goofy shorts need to be published here!
In the letter I put up, he says that he has been asking for the B&W Mickey shorts since 2004, but as U.S.A doesn't have Spanish dubbings for some of the shorts they may not be published soon, if they're published at all. Don't get me wrong, but the average Joe will prefer the Goofy cartoons more than the B&W classicsBig Disney Fan wrote:You're talking about Goofy cartoons, but you know what else needs to be published here? But maybe they can at least use Spanish subtitles; that could work, couldn't it?Isidro25 wrote:In the letter I put up, he says that he has been asking for the B&W Mickey shorts since 2004, but as U.S.A doesn't have Spanish dubbings for some of the shorts they may not be published soon, if they're published at all. hmm who did you write to? with me they told me to write to my local buena vista office, which i might do but i'm kinda doubtful that they can do/know anything. They did with me. I send them a letter and I got a response two weeks later, saying that the next treasures to be released are TCD vol 2 and TCP vol 1, in 2007. No mention of the Goofy set, but hey, good to know they're still in production
i'd definitely be keen to see donald volume2 and mickey B/W

We're pessimistic about the WDT here in the U.S., but there were supposed plans to release existing material overseas. Maybe THAT is why they're keeping us in the dark on the future of the Treasures.Lars Vermundsberget wrote:Future plans for WD Treasures IN the US is an important-enough question at this point.
not really, internationally there have only been four releasedLars Vermundsberget wrote:Future plans for WD Treasures IN the US is an important-enough question at this point.

whereas there's been a huge range released in the states, i think they should worry about the rest of us before dishing out more treats for america

In my experience "the rest of us" can buy whatever we please from wherever we like. Therefore I don't worry about which WDTs have been released in New Zealand or in Europe.
Compared to that there's certainly been quite a "wide range" of WDTs in the US, but the problem now seems to be that we've seen releases of most of Disney's classic animated shorts, but they might end up forgetting about the last handful... It's like ending up with an encyclopedia from A to S.

I can see your point, but as Lars says, there's nothing to stop you buying from America like many of us have. It's a global market these days, and you're best advised to take advantage of that. Indeed, at this very moment I've got items in the post to me from the USA, the UK, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan and Norway. (Thinks... *that's* why my bank balance is so low... duh!)mindbait wrote:whereas there's been a huge range released in the states, i think they should worry about the rest of us before dishing out more treats for america
Of course, it's important to remember that Disney is an American company first and foremost, so naturally their release patterns are going to be skewed towards their home market first.
The sad truth seems to be that the reason there haven't been any follow-up waves of Treasures outside the USA is that there isn't the demand for them. Now, it's debatable whether that's because there's no interest outside the States; or because the delay between them being released in the States and elsewhere was so great that most of the potential customers imported from the USA long before the local releases occured.
And like Lars, I'd like to see the full run of classic Disney shorts completed in at least one market as a priority before filling the gaps elsewhere.
"I hope we never lose sight of one thing - that this was all started by a little girl and a cat. And a rabbit."
hmm yeah i guess this is all true, and all the DVD players over here are multizone/multi standard things, i guess i was hanging onto the principle of "why should i have to order it in, it should just be available here moan moan whinge whinge etc etc"
so what sort of shorts are currently unreleased through the treasures range?
