I don't think that would be excessive because 4 set waves were often what was released in the past. Of course, we need the two Donald tins remaining and would like a tin of "Educational Shorts and Other Rarities" too, but since we were given HALF of Swamp Fox and Baca, I don't think it would be excessive to request a 4th tin to complete the shows.
Please, anyone who writes letters or starts petitions, let it be a request for one final fan-appreciation wave of Walt Disney Treasures tins, to include the following four.
The Chronological Donald Volume Three
The Chronological Donald Duck Volume Four
Disney Educational Shorts and Other Rarities
Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox Volume Two
Just a word of caution to this otherwise awesome request - Wasn't Elfego Baca and Swamp Fox possibly the least popular of all the Treasures releases? Am I also right in saying that we'd still need more than one volume to complete the SF/EB material anyway, requiring yet more waves?
If we are trying to salvage the situation from a decision that is already seemingly made, I think we may be unwise to push for another complete 4 set wave, including one of the shelf-sitting titles in our request. The live action material left over would still fit nicely into the legacy line, and it would be pretty impossible to release EVERY serial in the Treasures line anyway with such a ticking clock.
What we ARE desperately close to is completing the animated output of the Walt Era, and by requesting just a 3 set 'Donald 3', 'Donald 4' and 'Rareties/Key educational works' wave, we (the fans) are showing a compromise and telling them what is really important to finish off in this line.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see multiple EB/SF volumes be released, but in a situation where the first volume of that title likely helped make their decision to slow the Treasures down, let's not be too ambitious with our requests. Those 3 animated titles WILL make a PROFIT and that is the key language to talk in when we are picking our fights.
Everyone should definitely keep requesting, but just make sure Diz know that we're not asking them to carry on in exactly the same manner, but to compromise and complete the easily completable animation section of the line before changing direction.
Please ignore me if you disagree, I just wanted to throw a little exec logic out there for a moment so that they can be seen to at least win a little bit of the battle (but still get us the core of what we REALLY want if push comes to shove)
