ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- A Walt Disney World employee dressed as the character Tigger was accused of hitting a child while posing for a photo, a spokeswoman for the theme park said Saturday.

Park officials temporarily suspended Michael J. Fedelem while they investigate the accusations, Disney spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez said.

"Naturally, physical altercations between cast members and guests are not tolerated," Suarez said.

Jerry Monaco of New Hampshire videotaped his son, Jerry Jr., posing with the costumed character at Disney-MGM Studios on Friday and recorded the confrontation, according to a statement from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The father said Fedelem intentionally hit his son "on or about the head," said sheriff's spokesman Carlos M. Padilla. "The tape only shows a fraction of what happened. Now it's up to us to find out what led up to that."

A message left by The Associated Press for Monaco was not immediately returned. A telephone listing for Fedelem could not be located.

In 2004 a Walt Disney World employee dressed as Tigger was accused of touching the breast of a 13-year-old girl while she posed with him for a photo. A jury found the man not guilty.

I doubt he actually hit the kid, just playfully patted him on the head.

Ok Correct me if I am wrong but Didn't Tigger or another Pooh Character fondle a female's breast years ago that occured at a Disney Themed park while they were going to get their picture taken? I remember hearing about it on the news and even Jay Leno made fun of it by interviewing Tigger or rather Gilbert Gottfried in a Tigger suit.... It was funny yet so degrading..... For Iago who I bet Sqawked his feathers off...

Man, Tigger just can't catch a break. I think Tigger and Mark Hamill need to start contacting MTV or VH1.

What's Mark Hamill got to do with it?

The Tigger costume is clearly cursed.

I think "Tigger Costume Possessed By a Grab-Happy Poltergeist" is actually a valid legal defence these days.

I suspect it was some playful head-touching, as the characters can't feel anything under their fingertips anyways.

Either that or Tigger is just a bastard.

Never trusted that Tigger, he's just too bouncy!

Though Belle is quite welcome to smack me when I go to Disneyland in a couple of months.

Ran into Belle in Hong Kong (she must have been paying a quick visit).

The only question is where everyone's respective hands are going. I don't even remember what I was trying to achieve there!

I remember once when I was 5, I had taken a picture with Eeyore and as I was walking away, he kicked me in the ass. No lie. There must be something in the water in the 100 Acre Woods.

I'll bet it was an accident. It's pretty tough being in those costumes, not easy to exercise fine muscle control. Especially with tons of little kids around grabbing you and everything. Easy to miss one.

As for the groping, CNN's story said they found him not guilty.

I guess Piglet 'Cochrane' is a pretty good lawyer. ;)

Yeah, he is pretty bouncy. When we were at Animal Kingdom in 2002 and I got a picture with him, he kinda had a bit of fun with me and he succeeded in making me giggle. He even wore my father's hat temporarily while we got the pictures.

My dad said they showed the footage the boy's father shot on our local news. Although I missed it, my dad says he clearly saw the boy smacking Tigger in the butt a couple of times before Tigger finally smacked him upside the head. Hmm...

After watching it you will see that this is seriously insanely overblown. Tigger doesn't make a fist or anything. It looks like he moved his arm and accidently slapped the kid's face. Attention grabbing family trying to make somethin outta nothin!

After watching the video, my conclusion came correct. Another typical American trying gain cash. Plus the idoit media called it a "punch" which clearly isn't.

people like the damn kid and his retarded father are reason i start to lose faith in humanity.
