The Hunchback of Notre Dame VS. Treasure Planet - Which DVD?
I'm having a TERRIBLE time trying to figure out which of those DVDs that I should purchase. THoND is a FANTASTICALLY BRILLIANT movie, but the DVD is a bit, lacking, of extra features. TP is a wonderful film, and the DVD is great, but it's not a fantastic film like THoND.
So, which do you think that I should get??

I say Treasure Planet for 2 reasons.
Whilst HoND is the better film I think that it will get revisited in the next couple of years with an SE, whereas I'd guess we're stuck with the current 1 disc on TP for some time.
and the second reason TP is absolutely bursting with bonus features. For a 1 disc DVD the bonus features are amazingly in depth way. I's day the bonus features are better than those of The 2 disc PEs of The Little Mermaid and Cinderella.

100 times better movie(I think Hunchback is one of the worst movies ever made) and a 1000 times better DVD.
It's true that HoND is not critically acclaimed but do you really consider it better than that *@#?&! called Treasure Planet?

I would personally hold back on both. Hunchback is just DESTINED to get a new release within the next couple of years. (Heck, if it happened for Robin Hood, it WILL happen with Hunchback and Hercules for that matter).
As far as Treasure Planet, I have personally never seen it.
(Main reason is that the subject matter dosen't really interest me. That's the same reason why I haven't seen Chicken Little or Cars yet). But, that's just my opinion, under my interests. If you really like Treasure Planet, and knowing that it has really good bonus features and that it's not a big success (actually, the opposite) so a new edition isn't coming any time soon, I would go for it if you REALLY have to pick one of those two up.

Oh dear, another movie, in the same day, I feel the need to defend my opinion.Aladdin from Agrabah wrote: WOW!![]()

I think Treasure Planet is amazing. I've never been a fan of Hunchback, personally, I never knew why Disney bothered adapting it. "Hunchback of Notre' Dame" and "family favorite" are not two phrases you usually put in the same sentence.
"100 times" is an exaggeration, but I certainly feel it's a better film(and I still stand by 1000 times better DVD).

I also say Treasure Planet. The DVD is far superior, for one, and the movie can hold its own with THoND. It's tragically underrated (but then so is THoND). And although Don Hahn told UD not to expect a re-release of THoND anytime soon, he only knows as much as Disnet has decided so far. I think they're certain to revisit within a couple of years. Who knows, maybe they called Mr. Hahn the day after the interview and told him to start prepping for a late '07 release.
