Very interesting! If only some of the videos were longer, or even there was some videos of the even older stuff that went extinct!

I was hoping Horizons would have been longer with the different choices included. I guess we'll need to do with these until another one comes along since we have no other way to experience some of the greatness that were these rides.

Hey,

Thanks for providing this link to these terrific videos. I have really been enjoying them. I don't really have time for searching around YouTube for this kind of stuff right now so I really appreciate you sharing.

I had been wanting to know the exact route of the Skyway at the Magic Kingdom for a long time and now I know! I also really liked the 20,000 Leagues even though you can't always see the picture that great, but given the nature of the ride that is certainly understandable.

Thanks for the videos! If only there was one of 20,000 leagues under the sea, I loved that ride so much.

If I find them I'll keep posting them.

Anyways, here are ridethroughs for both tracks of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at the Magic Kingdom. It's a shame they tore down this classic ride for a decent but not great Winnie the Pooh ride.

Here's an even better ridethrough of World of Motion. I'm not going to even try to make a comparison between this and Mission: Space as there isn't one. One ride was spectacular and one ride is not.

This person has lots of parades and other rides as well. Some of them are worth checking out.

A more expensive way of seeing many great extinct ride throughs (and getting a nice and generous amount of bonus features by way of vintage materials and newly shot interviews) would be to check out The Extinct Attractions Club which has a large array of DVDs devoted to extinct attractions. They are as close to professionally made as you can get (just watching the preview videos show how good the DVDs are), and contain a wealth of Disney information from imagineers, designers, composers, etc. who worked on the original rides.

I have yet to purchase a DVD from them, though I've been eyeing the Adventures Thru Inner Space DVD and the Haunted Mansion DVDs for some time. It's amazing that a small group of dedicated fans can document and record mere park attractions AND interviews AND edit it nicely as a DVD for others, while Disney can't be bothered with a solid DVD release for half their catalog films.

Some of those interviewed for these DVDs: (off the top of my head, though I know there's more)

Thurl Ravenscroft
X Atencio
Richard Sherman
Alice Davis
Marc Davis
Ron Miller
Bob Gurr

They even have an interview with Johnny Depp on their Pirates DVD!

I have the skyway story DVD and ordered the monorail set and peoplemover dvd. I have never been to any disney park sadly but I would like to go. Seeing the video of the vonroll built skyway reminds me of the one I rode at Six Flags St. Louis in July 1978.
