TLK 3, R2 on Febuary 16

Post by Starion »

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced that the UK Region 2 DVD release of The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata will be on February, 16th 2004.

The features will be similar to the Region 1 DVD, The Lion King 1 1/2.

I'd grab a Region 2 and 3 copy, but I only have a Region 1 DVD player.

Cover Art

Post by DLRP Magic! »

Amazon.co.uk now has the cover art, and it looks pretty good except for that horrible blue fadeout in the bottom-right corner! :x

Here is the video cover art aswell: Image

Don't ask me why, but Amazon seem to have now removed the DVD cover art from the page! :?

No sign of The Lion King II, which is strongly rumoured to have a re-release on the same day...
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Oh my god, that cover art is hidious! The HAKUNA MATATA is squized in and the 3 looks no good in the square thingie. I didn't like the American version of the cover, but this one really is hidious! I really think they should have sticked with the first cover art with the blue background. These colors are too overwelming and always the same. Very un-proffesional.

I don't like the bluish logo in the lower right corner of the DVD case either. I agree that the design of the case seems unprofessional. The Region 2 arwork looks terrible!

Don't worry! (too much!)

That blue fade-out thing will be gone on the final cover! I saw Brother Bear on Sunday and before the film they had a new trailer for TLK3 which showed an improved cover art at the end. Amazon also still show TLK:SE as having a blue fade-out, but the actual cover thankfully doesn't.

I think on the proper cover art the 3 was still too big though.

I got a Disneyland Resort Paris folder in today. It included an advertisement for TLK 3. It shows the coverart for The Netherlands and Belgium. I have scanned it in and have cut it out in Photoshop :) Of course I resized it, but the original image is way larger.

Yep, that's what the UK cover will look like, except the Disney DVD logo and rating symbol will switch sides.

Thanks for posting the picture! :)

No problem. For anyone that wonders why the image doesn't show up.. My host is probably down. Sorry about that.
