The 2099net Appreciation Thread
In our enjoyment of this website, let us not forget one of its stealthiest but most valuable contributors: James Reader (aka 2099net). Whether dutifully moderating the forums, writing the occasional DVD review or DIScussion, masterfully defending The Country Bears, or keeping the forum going with his numerous extremely intelligent and insightful posts, 2099net helps to make UltimateDisney.com what it is. Here's to one of UD's longest-lasting and finest community members and most important staff members! Good'day, guvna'!

Yes, what an excellent idea!
Let's congratulate and thank Mr. Reader for his informational contributations and British sarcasm.
I mean, Who would discuss Doctor Who(:P), defend Country Bear but diss Pirates 1 & 2, help me point out Pixar's Buddy Formula, rave about British comedies such as "Little Britian" and so on.

Oh yes, what a GRAND idea.
Netty is someone who I would define as: smart.
Yes, Mr. Reader is probably one of the smartest people on these here boards.
Keep up the FANTASTIC work, whatever it is that you do.

You gotta love Netty's posts. They're informative without being dry and dull, and they're witty without being smug or grating. That type of balance tends to be rare on message boards. The fact that he doesn't care for Alice in Wonderland is something I'll let slide.
Three cheers for Netty!

Not only an intelligent poster and a welcome forum presence, but a lovely bloke to chat to as well.
A general all-round good human being really.
I've had my breaks from this forum, storming out and vowing never to return on at least one occasion, but his wise words (and the rest of you lovely people) keep bringing me back.
I believe he's on a break at the moment, but always great to see him around.
Bless his cotton socks.

You wrote everything that I wanted to say, except for the fact that he's also part of UD's resident UK MASSIVE (okay, that's a lame name, but it was either that or the Pip Pop Pap Pip Gomers for a term to describe people on UD who come from the UK). Everybody loves teh Netty!Disneykid wrote:You gotta love Netty's posts. They're informative without being dry and dull, and they're witty without being smug or grating. Would that make me the town's unofficial town fool? Or is that official now?Luke wrote:Yay, Netty! UD's Unofficial Guvna!
I think we should all be given unofficial titles.
Anyhoo, another hearty and pantless cheer for Netty.

Netty is not only one of the coolest guys on the Internet, he's one of the most informative. Without him, I'd have never heard of Doctor Who!
I'm not good at salutes and such, but here are some salutive emoticons:
Three Cheers* for James Reader,
From JM

*Yes, I realize I gave him three thumbs instead of cheers, but I meant the very best.

I'm back! - which sadly means two days of sheer horror at work on Thursday and Friday. You have no idea what I've left behind (and I was up until gone midnight working on the Tuesday before I left for my Parents' for Xmas).
Which is sort of the point I'm making. I do very little on the forum these days, because my work responsibilities have stepped up greatly since I joined. But being in the UK and in a different time-zone can help, because I can quickly quarantine SPAM posts and the like while most of the UD community is asleep dreaming of heroic heroes, wicked witches and fluffy bunnies (not necessarily in that order!), even if I don't get much time during the day to actually post.
Luke, Renata and Aaron really deserve all the acclaim and appreciation for running the site, especially as each of them takes on additional tasks for the site without any form of financial reward. Although… I did do the UD Shop [scratches chin and thinks] which could possibly be up for a radical rethinking soon*…
Many thanks for your comments! Keep watching The Country Bears and then writing to Disney for a sequel!
* Soon will inevitably mean "sometime in 2007, probably at the very, very, very end of the year".

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
